"You need the 'red antenna'" on by clifffender

Pros: Easy to program (for ants)

Cons: keys small, bad antenna, volume keys in bad place

Summary: 2 free ones for migrating to Cingular; keys not designed for adult human use; volume keys placed on side where an adult human will sometimes hold this phone to keep from dropping it....caused unwanted phone rings that can scare you good.

The good part is: to make the phone work you need the right ("red") antenna. If you get the phone from one of the Cingular outlets in a department store/corner of the mall, then chances are you will get one of the old "bad" antennas that LG didn't replace. Unless you are in a strong signal area, then look for mega cutoffs.

Of course the person at "Warranty Service".... he will be mailing me 2 good (also known as "red" antennas) and I should have them in a couple weeks (???). And there will be no charge!! --WOW!!! NO CHARGE!!!--- for something I should have had on the phone in the first place. An adequate antenna so I can complete my calls with no cutoffs. (LG was aware of this problem, but didn't get to replace all atennas, especially ones sent to Cingular for "free" promos.

Beware of this cute little critter phone and ask for the good/"red" antenna; but probably Scooter behind the makeshift counter in THE MALL won't know what you're talking about. And, you have to guess where your handless-plug is for the earphone/mic.

UPDATE... The "red antenna" they sent me didn't do any better. If you're in weak area, do not get this phone!!! I went back and got a better model (Motorola) which works better in my weak area.
ALSO... the volume keys (on the C1300) cause you a lot of frustration...just by handling the phone the volume for the ring is constantly lowered.... I had to readjust the ring volume many, many times...

I am currently researching replacements for these little paperweights for my company. When they worked, they were inconsistent. Now, less than 6 months later, most are completely dead. You get what you pay for...and these would be a bad deal for free.

This Phone is a piece of junk! Cingular is a poor provider! You were generous in giving it a 3.
