"Well worth the purchase" on by Orangeki

Pros: Great camera, great sound, almost a total package

Cons: No video, a bit complecated, ringtones can not be set for every individual

Summary: Due to this phone being relatively new, there is not alot of reviews for it on cnet. I couldn't find any decent ones so I decided to write one.

Having to suffer through two years of Sony's abysmal Ericcson T226 (and their proprietary bull crap), I decided to never buy a Sony product again! That led me to the LG series.

This is a beautiful phone, I love how it looks down to the font on keys. The screen is nice and bright, for all except 2 o' clock outside. The camera has a "mirror" for self-portraits (albeit small). On the side you will find a dedicated phone button, and there is a great amount of memory for photos (unless you are using the highest resolution). Call reception is great, but I would like the volume to go higher. The only real complaint is ring tones. The ring tones provided are not the best to put it politely. I suppose that's what the internet is for (although I will be waiting for the pc-phone cable that they will be releasing). The other complaint is that the ring tones cannot be set for every individual, just for specific groups (which there are 7 of). Menus area a bit complicated, but with a little time you can figure them out. I would have liked video capture, but for the price I can't complain. This is a very solid phone, I would recommend it to anyone.

"I don't want to like it but I do" on by duzey

Pros: Very sturdy, good call quality, good workmanship, simple to use, good price, camera, memory card support.

Cons: Bland design, limited features, battery life, pixel-ly gallery, "SETTINGS SAVED!" screen, cannot change banner.

Summary: I've had this phone since it came out in September through Fido. After day one I haven't been crazy about it. After ANY settings are changed, the phone comes up with a "SETTINGS SAVED!" screen coupled with a noise that both annoys me and cannot be changed. The banner cannot be changed. The clock on the front of the camera has a background picture that is permanent. Pictures are needlessly grainy in gallery mode, due to resizing. The only way to view at full size is to set it as background. The two colors available are dark blue or aqua blue. Both are sort of girly (I took it apart and squirted dark red).
Dispite this I have found that it does it's job well. I've dropped this phone and put it through the clothes wash and it still works without issue (though the battery lasted less than 6 hours in idle mode after it's bath). Inside the phone is well padded, particularly behind the screen. The small buttons have a quality rubbery feel to them. A very good T9 texting ability, allowing you to circulate between words with the same characters and add your own words to the T9. You can save numbers to either the phone's internal memory or a memory card inserted behind the battery; handy if you break the phone, the card still holds contacts. Also, I have dropped only 3 calls in 3 months.
So although I don't want to like this phone due to it's shortcomings, it impresses me by taking all the abuse I can dish out and continues working.

"Cute but questionable design" on by bds17

    Pros: Small and compact

Cons: Volume buttons are at the exact point that I hold the tiny phone to my ear.

Summary: First, the volume buttons are in an unfortunate spot on the side of the little phone, and this causes a constant lowering of the volume. Second, the volume's highest setting is still too low for me.
Third, the wimpy little ring tones that come with the phone are obviously designed to force purchase of better ring tones. I am new to LG, having had Nokia phones for the last five or six years. Not very impressed......I will probably buy another phone in the next couple weeks.

"Nice Phone But... Cingular" on by maceyman

Pros: Solid good feel, good quaility

    Cons: Poor menu layout, Cingular

Summary: My one and only gripe is, why Cingular won't release the software so I can download my pictures to my computer. They hold you hostage for $5 a month and .25 cents a picture to e-mail them. So, if I want to use a few pictures a year, were talking about $20 a picture !!!!! BAD business I WILL be switching companies when my contract is up, if they don't change there ways.

"alright phone if you hardly use it" on by silentbeatdown

    Pros: looks and speaker phone

Cons: call volume, camera, battery life and navigation

Summary: i got this phone to replace my samsung sgh-e315. well it started out alright until i really started to use it. the phone makes everything so much more difficult then it should be picture messages mostly, then you have to wait for the person to answer before speaker phone will work. when it comes to call volume the only time i can really hear the person on the other line is if i use speaker phone other then that there voice is very faint. after only having the phone fr about a week and a half the front part is loose and wiggles quiet a bit its getting worse. when people call and its on vibrate the whole front piece moves around making a annoying sound and the last thing con is the battery life it hardly lasts at all, its perfect for the kind of person who only has it to make calls every once and a while that doesn't need all the other features.
