"Nice little slider phone" on by Dark Wanderer

Pros: Size, speaker phone, free after $50 mail in rebate when I got it.

Cons: Screen smudges, # keypad is kinda small, camera orientation is landscape.

Summary: I got this phone to replace my 6 or 7 year old LG flip phone. I was having trouble finding a new flip phone that was not "totally tricked out," so I started to look at sliders. The sliders seemed to be giving me the same problem as the flips were. Just now they all seemed to have slide out QWERTY key pads. In the end I like the look and feel of the LG CF360 and thought that even if it had a few extra bells and such I could live with them by just not using them.

Pros: The phone has a good overall solid feel to it for its size. The screen is large and very clear to read. It can make and receive calls while still closed which is nice not to have to slide it open all the time. Like with the candy bar style phone there is a way to lock the keys so you don?t go making calls or go onto the web when you don?t what to. It is more of a timer thing when phone is in the close position X amount of seconds pass then it locks.

The non skid surface which makes the phone easy to open is a bit of a double edge sword. You can open the phone easily but, the phone body picks up dirt and lint that is hard to get off.

The call quality is good. You can clearly hear the person on the other end when on speaker or not. And the volume can get plenty loud. No drop calls to speak of expect for one spot on my commute home which I don?t recall on my old phone.

Cons: As with most phone screens this once smudges rather easily. There is also a draw back with the fact that like the candy bar style the screen is exposed at all times so the chance for scratches is a good possibility if you don?t get a screen protector.

The numeric key pad while not terrible it is not great either, it is kinda smaller then most and is hard to use for texting even if you have small girly hands like I do.

The phone has both a camera and video mode. The camera is nothing really to write home about and the video mode is nice however, the orientation of both is annoying. For some reason the layout of both is what I would consider landscape, having to hold the phone in a horizontal manner. If one does take a picture with the camera in a classic portrait way straight up and down then in reviewing the picture it will show up on its side. When reviewing the image you can change its orientation but it just seems that starting in landscape is odd.

Games on this phone like many others are either trial version or use your data plan to validate your copy of the game. If you don?t have a data plan then it?s $0.10 a kb. I miss having even a basic snake game to mess around with but guess I can?t complain, or I will sound old.

My overall impression of the phone that it is a good solid phone for making and receiving calls with some extras that you can or don?t have play with depending on what you are looking for in a phone. If you are looking for a nice upgrade I would say this one is worth looking into.

"I like this phone, It is pretty good for a freebie." on by mgrecol

    Pros: Nice look, good price

Cons: Playback Error problem which I have a solution for below.

    Summary: Hello All,
I think I may have a solution for the 'Playback Error' problem with the LG CF360. Below, I have put the steps that caused my phone to have the error and then the steps I took to get rid of the error.

Firstly, my CF 360 worked well for hours of playing songs without any error. Then, after I did the following steps, the error happened over and over.
? I pushed a mp3 ring tone via blue tooth to the phone with the SD card in. It saved the ring tone in the SD card, but I wanted it on the phone in case the card was out, it would still ring.
? I took out the SD card and pushed the same file to the phone, so it would save on the phone and not the SD card.
? I also pushed another mp3 to the phone.
Then, the "Playback error" happened intermittently every few minutes.
This may have been caused by either
    1. The phone's library of mp3's being corrupted because of the same file in two locations, or
    2. The phone's physical memory getting too low to effectively play music.
Here are the steps I took that got rid of the error.
? Delete the duplicate mp3 from the SD card
? Move all music mp3's to the SD card and off of the phone.
? Move some pictures to the SD and off of the phone.
    ? Shut off phone
    ? Take out SD card.
? Turn on phone and try to play a playlist of songs that were on the SD card (causes the phone not find the file and update the music library)
? Put in SD card while the phone is on. (causes the phone to re-build the music library).
After I did this, I have played mp3's for hours without any errors at all, just like before. Either I had too much stuff on the phone or the music library was not correct causing the crash.
    I hope it helps.

"Even for basic use, this phone has issues." on by exochassis

Pros: Sturdy phone and has excellent battery life.

Cons: Poor programming with several bugs, including having to reboot the phone when the '0' button randomly stops working after texting. MMS options are not easy to access, and phone has very limited storage capacity.

Summary: When I first purchased this phone, it was easy to use and had virtually no issues. Now after using it for less than a year I'm having repeated issues with the '0' button randomly not working after I send a text, predictive texting (T9) randomly places words in my message when trying to enter numbers (i.e. '20' turns into '20make' or some other word), editing the T9 dictionary is a major chore as deleting one entry sends you all the way back to the top of the list every time and the list isn't in proper order, and the memory storage is very inconsistent. I have 13 pictures on my phone and two videos that are 26 seconds and 21 seconds, and I have enough storage left for maybe 1 picture in decent quality. The phone is also set up where the 'OK' button in the center of the top slider accesses the internet when clicked from the home screen which is irritating considering how many times I've accidentally hit that button sliding it open and closed. I would definitely recommend looking for a different phone or spending a few extra bucks and getting a better one. If I didn't need the phone right now I'd smash it to pieces with a hammer and toss the rest in an open fire. No kidding.

"I thought it was a good phone." on by cnetfred10

Pros: Nice looking phone, fairly easy to set up.

Cons: The music player on this phone sucks big time. I get a "Playback Error" message after the song plays between a few seconds and a couple of minutes. I have found several bad reviews about this on line. You have to remove the SD card or battery to use.

Summary: I would not recommend this LG phone at all. I hope AT&T reads this, and all the other bad reviews on line regarding the bad music player. If you want a phone to play your music files dont purchase this one.

"This is a nice dependable phone for the price" on by cdstroud

Pros: The phone has good reception, keeps a charge all day with a lot of texting and phone usage, the slider is very smooth and the ringer and volume adjusts to "very loud". The keys are large and spaced appropriately for larger fingers.

Cons: The phone takes decent quality pictures but does not have a flash.

Summary: I love this phone and have bought two more for family members.
