"Very Disappointed With This Phone"
Pros: Never Had It Long Enough To Notice Any Pros
Cons: Not Very Durable
Summary: About a week ago, I needed to purchase a new phone. Wanting a basic phone, I opted to buy the CG225. After only having this phone for THREE days, the internal LCD screen mysteriously shattered. I think I've dropped my previous phone on the ground at least two dozen times and it still worked. This phone, on the other hand, couldn't even last while being in one of my pockets. This is totally unacceptable in my book. Since the damage is not covered under Cingular's warranty, I guess I'll be looking for another phone and another carrier.

So glad I read this. I had my lg cg225 for 2 months. I liked it ok so far, but had the same problem you did except mine fell out of my purse & shattered just like yours. I was planning to get another so I could use the battery etc as back up, thinking it must have hit hard, but now I think there is a flaw with the phone. Bummer

It is unfortunate. I work in a repair center, and I have yet to see one person carrying in a cracked LCD who would actually admit they were responsible for the damage. We at the repair center refer to these models as the "possessed" line. They break on their own, with no impact, and at no fault of the user, apparently. And just by the way, I own this model, and have pretty much since it was released. It has been a great phone and I have had no problems, not even a self-cracking LCD.

Cingular has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Take the phone back and get one that you would be happier with.
