"Sleek, sexy, great cellphone."
Pros: Great design, mp3 player, 1.3megapixel camera, innovative touch screen interface, good presentation, stereo speakers, bluetooth, lightweight, small
Cons: PC Sync is somehow hard to use, no expansion port, fingerprints easily,
Summary: Maybe this will be an over rated review, since I had my previous cellphone for over 4 years, and when I received this one I was amazed.
Pros:
-When you get your cellphone, the presentation is nice. I even kept the box, it's nice looking. You get many accesories; such as the PC sync software, headphones, charger, and a nice "velvet-like" cover in order to keep it clean.
-All of the media features; MP3, camera, pictures are great. The camera has a nice resolution (LED Flash integrated), the MP3 sound great (headphones or speaker, which sounds louder than my laptop).
-The touch panel is great and yet unique for any cellphone. At first, you need time to get used to it, but now when I use friend's cellphones is odd to use normal buttons.
-Many other features include different alarms setting, calculator, units conversion, worldwide time, etc.
-The design is simply great. When the cellphone is not on, or you're not using it, it looks completly black, and when you turn it on, or you slide it in order to open it, the keys and screen suddenly appear. Even for persons like me who hate fashion I have to admit this is very pretty. The cellphone is thin, small, you barely feel it in your pocket.
Cons:
-I have to agree with a previous reviewer, writing a SMS is kinda hard.
-Even if I don't consider it a disadvantage, no expansion for 128mb of space may turn off buyers who wanted this as a real MP3 player. And it's sad since the quality is just great.
-Performing a PC Sync is kinda hard, too. Unless you read the manual and get to know how to do it using the modem feature.

This guy reviewed the much nicer GSM version of the LG Chocolate, the KG800. This european GSM version has a nicer screen, thinner body and no MicroSD slot. Different phone dude, you really must be a newB to not realize your phone is a complete different model...

I purchased this phone less than 20 days ago and I regret not seeing negative reports. Let's get down to the point! This phone is for people with a lot of time in their hand and nothing else to do. It's 99% plastic and very fragile. The battery needs charging daily and I DO NOT use it as an MP3 or anything else, its only use is as a basic phone. The memory holder and the battery charger have little plastic doors that DO NOT last. These covers, specially the battery charge side WILL wear out fast and the inconvenience to plug the wall charger to the phone is a real pain! NO easy slide in charger. If you have large fingers, definitely forget it. Beside, it constantly have to be clean because of smudges. I tried to exchange it but California has a 15 days return policy. I could only get a replacement, because the little doors wore out. The Verizon rep said that they have several return per day. The other functions, I have not try using; until I get a large battery.
I must stress...IF YOU BUY IT, GET THE INSURANCE...this phone will definitely need it... good luck! -
You mentioned something about the memory only being 128mb. I just wanted to correct you, but I don't want you to think this is some harsh comment. Just to help you discover the fun you can have with this. First off, I don't have this phone, but I've did my research and know that you CAN have a larger memory for that phone by purchasing a microSD from your local electronic store like Bestbuy. Just head to the video camera section and ask for some microSD. You can actually get 2GB of memory into you phone, which means 200 or so mp3s if Verizon will still let you. Verizon wants you to buy their music coversion kit to change your MP3s into WMA. I don't know if mp3 can play in the phone, but that's what they say. You can also probably put movies in the phone as well. I have a LG 8100 and love it. I have 144 mp3s, several music videos, viral vids and had place feature movies (Sin City etc) in it. Hope this helps. Go to Howardforums.com and go to LG section. They'll give you the info on your phone that verizon won't.

I got my "Chocolate" yesterday directly from a Verizon store. It came with no PC Sync software nor velvet bag. It came sealed in the box.
I dont think the SMS is hard at all, im used to the "SureType" on the Blackberry which is the fastest of any type of typing technology but its easy for me to SMS on the "Chocolate". I also bought a 1GB expansion card. Although I had the animated background on the phone and the phone went from a full charge to dead in about 3 hours, 1.5 hours maybe was spent talking..all in all i love the phone, the wow factor is great and the VZ Navigator is incredible, i was just about to buy a Garmin Street Navigator but i dont need it now! -
for those of you who got accessories with your phone, where did you purchase your phone? i got mine at the verizon store, but (as usual with verizon) i had to buy each accessory additionally. the only thing that the phone came with was the charger. i'm curous to see where these other accessories came from...

It DOES have expansion for the built-in space in the form of MicroSD cards, which are available in capacities up to 2GB.
