Pros 3G phone for great price, Excellent call quality, Bluetooth, E-mail, Cingular Video, PTT functions, Great Keypad, nice design, camera and video recording
Cons Annoying startup and shutdown noise, monochrome external display
Summary To be honest, I was a little concerned that there were no official reviews of this phone. I decided to get it anyway (with Cingular's 30-day trial). I'm sure glad I bought this phone.
Call quality is unmatched by any other phone I've used. It sounds like a land-line phone (on both ends of the line) rather than a cell phone. Calls sound great; the volume was a little low when used with my headset, (a Jabra bt125), but I think it was because my headset volume wasn't as high as it should be.
This phone has near-broadband Internet capabilities, though I do recommend at least the cheapest MEdia Max bundle so you don't get charged ridiculous charges for using the Internet a-la-carte.
Layout is awesome. Keypad is the best I've seen yet (which was the main reason I went with this phone instead of the cu500). Keys are nice and big, and lets you avoid misdials a lot easier. Texting is also very easy because of the large and great keypad.
The screen is nice and big, though I think it could have been bigger based on the surface area of the phone. A photo ID suppored external display would have been nice, but it does have date and time, plus signal strength and other stuff.
The weight of the phone is just right, not too heavy that it's uncomfortable, but not too light that you feel like you're gonna sling it everywhere......
I have no review for the PTT (push-to-talk) functions of the phone, since I don't use the service.
Camera is decent, not the best I've seen, but still nice. It's great for using on-the-go pics and background photos.
Overall, I highly recommend this phone. Just make sure you get a case for it; you'll want to protect this one!
Pros Great Phone, Amazing Reception, Sturdy, Good Price
Cons Bluetooth Transfer of Contacts Disabled, Not Much Else
Summary I replaced a D807 with this and I couldn't be happier. It gets amazing reception, getting up to 3 bars more than my old phone. The multitasking is really nice and the keys are laid out really well. The main reason I replaced my D807 was the reception and volume, and so far this has filed my needs.
"Great Phone !"on by SFDENGINE2
Pros Reception, easy to use, fast functions
Cons Start up sound
Summary I read alot of reviews on all the different Cingular phones. After researching them I kept coming back to the LG CU400 as my main choice. I have now owned the LG CU400 phone for almost three months. In fact I bought the same phone for my daughter.
I wanted to wait a few months before rating it to give my own fair evaluation. I have previuosly owned the Motorola V600, V551 and the LGC2000. It puts all these phones to shame. I really like the sleek black style of this phone. It seems sturdy enough for me. The front screen not being colored really doesn't bother me. I like being able to see the date, time, caller ID and other functions without opening it. The inside colored screen is really nice and easy to see.
I find it really easy to use as far as the functions. The menu pretty much leads you through everything. Being older, the keys are really easy to see and easy to use with big hands. The camera is OK, not great. But I didn't buy a cell phone for camera use. The battery life is good. With the bluetooth on it is does cut battery life. This happens to all cell phones.
The reception I have found is exceptional.! I have heard complaints but I find alot of times this related to Cingulars lack of GSM sights. This phone meets my needs. I highly recomment it !
Pros Easy to use. Solid feel. Good reception.
Cons Ascending ringtone
Summary This is my fift cellphone in the last 8 years and its the best yet. I did my homework and read up on many cellphones trying to find one that fit my needs. I dont need alot of toys but this phone is loaded for bear. My main need is a strong cell signal as my work takes me daily out into the hills, farmlands and countryside of NY state and NW Pennsylvania. I almost always have a decent signal and this phone has a clear tone that rivals a landline phone. The phone has an easy to read faceplate and is much easier to use than my Nokia and Motorola were. Battery life has been VG compared to all of the other phones I've owned. The 1 complaint I kept reading about this phone was poor camera quality. I've used mine to take pics and they have turned out ok.....Not super high quality but passable except to the anal-retentive. take a pic of your kids, spouse or pet and put it on your wallpaper and it looks fine. I highly recommend this phone to anyone that needs a strong signal and if you need bluetooth etc., its good to go.
Pros call quality, bluetooth, camera with video
Cons none so far
Summary keypad is very easy to use. Video is nice. great price point for this kind of quality. Weight and feel just right. I highly recommend it!
