"Have had this LG Decoy 3 days and LOVE it.!" on by netspirit
Pros: Easy to read screen for time, incoming messages, etc., Voice Commands easy to get to and use while Driving
Cons: Sometimes there is a delay after hitting the Clear (Back) button.
Summary: I just returned the Samsung Glyde after keeping it 3 weeks and picked up this LG Decoy. I absolutely LOVE it. I was frustrated with the Glyde because the touch screen was so unresponsive and hard to read and use while driving, this phone is welcome change. This is what I love about it:
* Feels great in my hand and against my face when talking. Very easy to hold.
*The glossy front screen is easy to read (I thought the glossy mirror might make it hard to read, but it is bright and MUCH, MUCH easier to see than the Glye.
*Easy to open, dial, text, etc. I chose the LARGE Font for the Messaging and Dial Nmbers so I can glance at it and read quickly. I chose the Normal for the Menus/List so I could see more at once.
*Love the Large Screen Area on the front.
*Great interface. Much better than most Verizon phones and I've had a lot. More fun to navigate. Easy to get to everything.
*I LOVE the voice commands button right on the number pad. Can slide open and hit that button without even looking at the phone while driving. Much safer than trying to dial using the Glye. I almost wrecked twice trying to use that phone.
*The lock function works great. When you close the slide phone it is locked and yo7 cannot hit a button and accidently dial your boss.
*The Bluetooth looks like it would be uncomfortable, but after using it a couple of times I fell in love with it. And everyone I have talked to said it sounded like I was talking on the regular phone instead of a Bluetooth.
*The bluetooth charges at the same time as the phone AND has a separate charger.
*Can charge the phone using a separately purchased USB PC connector.
*20+ Ringtones, nice calendar, can set 4 shortcuts by hitting right on the scroll button, very nice camera options, Speaker Phone button right on the front of phone.
*Surprised to find Notepad and many other options under Settings and Tools.
Cons:
I have only found two Cons so far with this phone and I can live with these since everything else about the phone is so great.
*There is sometimes a delay when hitting the Clear button to go back or the OK button.
*The center button that scrolls up and down the lists is a little hard to get used to and I'll hit up or down when trying to hit the center position for ok...but I am learning to control it better with practice.
I think this is the best Verizon phone I've ever had. Every day I love it even more. -
"just picked this phone up today and got rid of the env2" on by papasin101
Pros: bluetooth connected to handset, bluetooth works very well, speaker phone works great,
Cons: none so far
Summary: i will post a better review after a few days with the phone. i love that the bluetooth is connected to the phone, and it's really in there i wont have to worry about it falling out. called a few people and they said i sounded better on the Decoy then the env2 i just returned, the env2 was not a good phone at all, thats another review i will post. so far i really like the phone, will need to check battery life, call quality after a few more calls, make sure NO drop calls, im very picky about cell phones the the next review will be more detailed. if u have questions about the phone u can email me.

had this phone for a week now and im very happy with it, pro's...call quality, speaker phone, bluetooth on the back of phone, toggle joystick is very easy, no more click, click. front screen is beautiful, 4 different ui. camera takes very good pic and video. sure it's not a fancy touch screen that gets your finger prints all over it. mirror like finish, i bought the extended battery for it. this is a cell phone that performs very well with phone calls, got a signal where i wasn't able to before. bottom line is if your looking for a cell phone that looks cool and makes a call every time, this is that phone, this is my first slider phone and i now prefer sliders over flip phones, you dont have to open it each time you want to change a ringtone or look at pic or videos. the headset may or may not fit all ears, i got very lucky!! it fits perfectly. NO echo calls, no drop calls, solid phone. buttons are very nice, rubber feel to em. this is a keeper!Updated
been using the headset it came with the first day, so i decided to switch back to my samsung wep200, what a big difference, everything sounds more clear with the wep200 and NO complaints from the other caller, everyone had a problem hearing me, also i walked 5 ft or so away from the phone and it starts to break up. as for the phone, it's solid, no complaints here, very happy with the phone but i will be returning it for something else do to the not so great headset. lg should of put a better bluetooth with this phone, because the price is to high for just a phone, headset needed some more work before it was released. i hear crackle sounds, just make sure your in a very quiet environment, because the caller cane hear every little noise in the back round, again, the phone itself is rock solid great!! -
"Looks better than it actually is..." on by mokalac926
Pros: Embedded bluetooth headset is a great idea. Good sound/coverage with handset.
Cons: Headset is horrible. Shiny surface is hard to see outside and scratches easily.
Summary: I'm returning this unit to Verizon today. On calls with the headset, to the receiver, it sounds like you are standing in a tin can. My conversations have been filled with, "What? Can you repeat that?"
While the headset initially sold me on this unit, it is also the units demise and I'm returning it to the store.
Otherwise, the functionality of the handset is really good and looks so Matrix. However, since I need a good headset with CA's new laws, the extra cost for the convenience of only keeping track of one piece is not worth it. -
"So far so good" on by Hwkeyed
Pros: Great clarity. Easy to read icons
Cons: Really shiny
Summary: I should have gone with my gut and gotten this phone in the first place. But, I had a Samsung phone before and I loved it, so I went with the Sway and took it back to Verizon after 8 days. The features of this phone are excellent. Sharp color, easy to navigate. I can make the fonts bigger, which is great for these old eyes! Sound is clear. Overall, I am very happy.
It's been almost 2 weeks and I can safely say that I really like the features of this phone. Texting is super smooth and using the T9 makes it even easier. The sound is good and clear. This phone is a great choice.

"Fantastic phone" on by carolinagreenmom
Pros: Strong and sturdy, Blue tooth works well and attaches and charges with the phone, good variety of ring tones, 2.0mp camera, easy to use
Cons: ear piece not the greatest fit in my ear
Summary: I just upgraded my phone with Verizon. I had my motorola for the last three years and didn't think I needed anything else until the cellphone law was passed in our state. I needed to get a phone that was bluetooth enabled. I first walked out of the store with the Samsung flipshot thinking that the 3.0 mp camera would be great for when I forgot my regular camera, but after reading reviews on line and trying to figure out what bluetooth device to buy, I went back the next day and got the Decoy. Interestingly enough the salesperson did not show it to me the first time I went to the store. Later another sales person told me that he doesn't mention this new phone because you usually aren't able to sell an accessory pack with it. I have loved the Decoy from the moment I have brought it home. I love the feel. It is strong and sturdy. I like how the buttons and the slide work. It automatically locks when the slide is down. I don't mind the joystick button in the middle. I think it is easy to use - it reminds me of the mouse button on a laptop in the center of the keyboard without all the keys around it. There is a good choice of ringtones, and the best part is the bluetooth that snaps in and out. Every conversation I have had, people say that they can hear me great, and I can hear them great. I only use the bluetooth for the car, so I haven't tried it in a lot of noisy situations except for kids in the backseat. The fit of the bluetooth is the only con. It fits just okay in my ear. If I walked around all day with a bluetooth, I would probably want one with the strap that goes around the ear, but for the car - it works great for me. I have to jam it in my ear, but it stays in fairly comfortably. I don't think you can beat the deal on what you get for the money. I am more than pleased with the quality and the ingenious features of this phone.
