"Only 12-year olds like it (cool styling), but as communications device its awful"
Pros: silver thin Styling
Cons: Bad reception, hard to hear caller or ring tone, bad usability design, bad software
Summary: Only my son's 12-year old friends think this phone is cool because its looks cool. For the adults who use it, its a stinker. Several weeks ago, I thought I had trashed it but turning it on and accidentally pushing the on button, and another at same time. I had to remove the battery *and* chip to reset it so that the screen displayed info again. (Call to Cingular tech support did not have solution to this, they were looking for me to buy another phone- yeah right!)
The reception is terrible. The volume is not loud enough, even in quiet area its hard to hear caller. The loudest ring available is not loud enough, the vibrator is not enough 'vibraty' enough either, and you can't have both at same time.
Lastly, the design of the volume control buttons which are on the outside of the case when it is closed are awful (and are pointless, since its at maximum all the time)
If the volume controls get pinched and held down for more than 1-2 seconds, the phone either vibrates or beeps like it might be ringing. Guess what happens ten times a day to me when I squat and those buttons smash against anything in my pocket? I jump because I think I'm being called.
There should be a special place in h*ll for the engineers who designed this dog.
