"Built like a tank, Great phone for the money"

by imchipwood on October 13, 2005

Pros: 1. Built like a tank (read below for more information), 2. cheap, gets the job done.

Cons: few features, other than that, not much to complain about

Summary: When I say this thing is built like a tank, I mean it. After having it for about 6 months, I realized that dropping it and things like that didn't hurt it at all (unless your a stickler about the appearance, then you probably don't want to drop it). Eventually my phone became a sort of sport, my friends and I used it as a soccer ball, hacky sack (it doesn't make a very good hacky sack...), fliers up ball, and countless other abuses that phone really should never go through. It took 4 months of this constant abuse to finally make a noticeable effect, and even then it was just a tad bit of leakage from the liquid crystals in the screen.

Onto more important matters than the phones insane durability... It's a very small phone, one of the smallest I've ever seen (if not the smallest). It has a large screen on the back of the phone so you can see the time, service, battery, type of ring, whether or not you have messages, caller id, and other great things like that. To be honest, my one and only complaint is that it doesn't have a camera.

It has a lot of features you wouldn't expect to get from such a cheap phone; internet, games, downloadable ring tones/backgrounds, and plenty of other things you probably don't need in the first place.

People say the battery is short-lived, but it's obvious that half the people owning cell phones don't know how to care for a rechargable battery. I've had the phone for a year now, and up until the day it finally broke (fliers up...) the battery lasted at least two days. People think you should always be charging it, but if you charge it just before it's about to die (it would usually die around 2.5 days after charging on me), you'll get a lot more out of it.

All in all, you really can't ask for more in a phone for such a cheap price. I could complain a lot more, but that would be more with the service and not the phone itself.
