"LG LX150 rippes users off by not having replacement chargers in market" on by markunasm

    Pros: Decent Phone

    Cons: No replacement charger

Summary: Fine beginnger phone, but no camera. BIGGEST NO BUY for me would be that you simply CANNOT get a replacement charger unless you order them from the manufacturer. Pretty ###### if you ask me.

CNET Editors should pay more attention.

"Fine phone with no camera" on by sid_w

Pros: Blue-tooth, internal antenna, speaker, no camera

Cons: Limited accessory support, low battery life

Summary: If you work in a secure facility and need a new phone with no camera, this is a fine choice. It has pretty much all the bells and whistles other than a camera: bluetooth, speakerphone, picture mail (incoming only), and an internal antenna with decent power.

Speaker is a bit tinny, but you can always use a cordless bluetooth headset.

About the only difficulty I have had so far is that the battery gets down to 2 bars after about 1-2 days with limited use and powersave (bluetooth, even in standby, seems to be eating up the juice). But otherwise, no complaints.

I got this in trade for the Samsung A580 after a few days of difficulties with the infamous "gotcha button". I am much more satisfied now.

A caveat if you are new to bluetooth: Make sure the bluetooth headset is turned off, not on standby, when not in use, if you want to use the phone as your headset, or the phone's speaker/mike will be bypassed. Also, although the phone can be used as a cordless modem via bluetooth, you will need a usb cable to communicate directly between the phone and the computer.

I have since figured out why the battery gets discharged. The external LCD panel backlight turns on for several seconds whenever one of the side-buttons gets hit with the phone closed. This ia not a biggee, but it does run down the battery a bit when the phone it is in a pocket. A car charger is an easy solution to the problem

"Very nice light phone" on by bebop3

""And the light stays on..."" on by usernameisalreadyinuse999

Pros: Basic no frills phone, attractive menu display

Cons: 1. Status light blinks obnoxiously even when allegedly turned off. 2. Voice dialing only works if you are in same setting where you recorded the name.

Summary: Your editor wrote, "A small blinking LED light sits above the display, but you can turn it off." NOT. There is an option for turning it off, but it has no effect. I got my phone from Credo and sent it back because this "status light" insisted on coming on even when it was turned off, and the replacement does the same thing.

Another problem is that it takes one click more to dial a contact than my old LG1200, which is why the 150's voice dialing feature would seem to be a good thing. However, it is excruciatingly inefficient. I learned the first day that the list of names I had recorded in my house could not be recognized when I said them in my car. So I re-recorded them in the car. Then they could not be recognized anywhere BUT my car. Having the headset on or off also confuses the voice dialing system. If you record a name with the headset on, you can only access it with the headset on, in addition to being in the same acoustical setting. I tried recording full names instead of just first names, thinking the additional syllables would provide more fodder for differentiation, but the feature still gets confused, and can't even tell the difference between a long name and a short one. Say "Rosanne Rosannadanna," for example, and it queries, "Did you mean 'Mom'?" Uh, no.

I have had this phone less than three weeks and I already hate it

"Look no further..." on by flint4ster

    Pros: slim, light, bluetooth

    Cons: no camera phone

Summary: The search stops here if you are looking for a great simple phone that's easy to use, very light and slim. This phone has not let me down. Call quality is excellent and the bluetooth is really what I wanted the most. I did not need a camera or any other features that add weight or $$ and this is it!
