"Wanted a basic phone; got lousy phone instead." on by perkyinhawaii

Pros: Small size, easy navigation menu.

    Cons: Ring volume, sound quality.

Summary: I wanted a basic, no-frills phone to replace my old LG phone, which I loved. I don't need a camera or a videocamera or an MP3 player, etc....I just want a phone. That's what I thought I was getting, as that is exactly what my old LG phone was. But this one has been very disappointing. The ringer volume is so low that I regularly miss calls if I have my phone in my bag or I'm in the mall or something. The sound quality is poor--other people say I sound garbled, and ask if I'm standing outside in a windstorm. (I'm not.) The antenna is not great--I regularly have calls dropped, even though the phone has 3 bars of connectivity. Overall, I hate this phone, and I am going to replace it with a different phone soon.

"Great, functional, *phone*" on by sconover

Pros: Does basic stuff well, solid build, great UI, no extra crap

Cons: Bad if you want extra crap

Summary: Call quality is good - not as good as my wife's razr (the best I've heard), but I wouldn't ever trade for that phone given the horrible UI, build quality, and other general quality problems the razrs have.

I've had this for a month now. Battery life is very good, I charge it every 5 days or so (mostly standby). It's got a very small profile, but sits well in your hand when you're talking.

And LG makes great phone UI's - I get right where I want with ease, just the right amount of feedback. The keypad has a nice feel, very solid.

"Wish they made more phones like it" on by Z_19

Pros: Phone is a tank, UI is easy to use, battery life excellent, basic functions work well, dedicated text button is nice, slim physical profile and light weight, used and abused this particular phone for nearly 4 years

Cons: No frills. None at all. If you want to do anything that's not texting or calling it'll either be a chore or impossible.

Summary: If you don't get a lemon (my sister did a few times, so I know its quite possible), this phone could be your cell for the next half-decade if you let it and want nothing more than pure basic. I've run over mine in a car, left it out in the pouring rain, dropped it in a pool, and let it hit concrete/dirt/every other hard surface you can think of millions of times. And still it plugs away, oblivious to the abuse being inflicted upon it, and losing no functionality whatsoever. Those phones that claim to be "rugged" have nothing on it. It's indestructible. Honestly though, more than anything I appreciate the no-frills, no-hassle interface. If thats what you want this is a good bet.

"Decent phone. Crappy Components." on by kidwithabike

Pros: Worked great, stayed charged, handled abuse, just about everything worked

Cons: Finish, internal charge port, software, ringer volume

Summary: For a while, the phone worked very, very well, until it started having software issues. Would restart, and restart, and restart and never stop or let me use the phone in any useful way. Got it replaced, but lost all my contacts. The new phone's paint and "chrome" finish easily wore off after about a month on the sides and the outer screen scratched, but didn't show it. After about 8 months, the internal charging port broke off and the charger would have to be in JUST the right spot for the phone to charge. Eventually, it wouldn't charge at all and the charger fell apart from just wiggling it trying to find a sweet spot in the phone. Now the phone is dead and I have no way of charging it. The ringer volume is absolutely horrible if it is muffled by anything or you are concentrating on something else, but it did serve as a decent alarm clock, right next to the bed. Otherwise, the phone worked amazingly well and nothing would happen to it if I decided to see if it would bounce off of floors, the antenna picked up service real well, and it would keep a full displayed battery if I charged it every night, but it would last through the next day if I didn't. The vibrate worked well and the Bluetooth worked well for merely sending contact information. Overall, if the charger hadn't broke, I'd still have this phone, and I would rather get another one than replace it with a different model.
