"Amazing upgrade from Samsung A920!" on by UCRJEDI

Pros: The LG LX400 is lightweight, has excellent reception, an amazing speaker phone, crystal clear call quality, 5 hours of battery life, a bright display, and a nice menu with dedicated keys that are both useful and large.

Cons: The charger plugs into the side rather than the bottom of the phone making it hard to use and charge at the same time. The buttons on top can be pressed accidently thus making a call. Display is smaller than on the Samsung A920 but brighter.

Summary: I'm the type of person who uses their phone for making calls, text messaging, and occasionally playing some games so that's primarily what I was looking for in a phone. In terms of call quality this phone beats my old Samsung A920 without question. When I used the Samsung I would hear a slight buzz and sometimes would not be able to hear the person I was speaking with but with the LG I am amazed because there is no static, buzzing, or any other kind of noise coming from the phone. I would have to say that the best thing about this phone is its call quality. The 5 hour battery life is also great since I had 3 hours with my old phone. The LG is also very good looking and weighs much less than the Samsung. So instead of having my phone fall from the side of my pants because it was too heavy for the clip that I bought I now walk with ease knowing that my phone will be there.

Basically, the LG LX400 just destroys the Samsung A920. On top of all those major improvements there is the better quality speaker phone, brighter display, large keys (although Samsung had those too), better reception, and a menu that actually makes sense. The "genius's" at Samsung made sure to put the alarm clock as option number 9 under their tools menu but LG made the alarm clock option 1. As soon as I saw that I would no longer have to scroll through a bunch of useless tools in order to get to the alarm clock I was sold on this phone. It just shows that LG actually put some thought into their menu. Lastly, I can make a call without having to open the phone but this also means that these same keys could be pressed accidently. So although there are some negatives with the LG they are minor compared to the benefits. I cannot comment on the direct connect or the camera since I will not be using them. I can say that this phone, unlike my old one, does not crash when making a call and receiving one at the same time. The bluetooth is not crippled and when I flip open the phone the call is picked up without me pressing any buttons. I must say that LG did an excellent job with the LX400 in terms of the technology that's in it and the way the menu is set up. Those with big fingers will also appreciate the buttons. Everyone else will appreciate 5 hours of battery life and crystal clear calling.

"Horrible Horrible Horrible" on by deannchris

Pros: None except it's bluetooth compatible

Cons: My problems have been if I answer the phone or try to plain old dial the phone it rings on the other side but I can't hear anyone and no one can hear me I've had this problem since I've got the phone It won't ring outloud but I'll see missed calls

Summary: Don't waste your time or money on this phone. I'm usually not an LG person in the first place but someone else bout a new phone and gave me this one NOW I SEE WHY!

    "total waste" on by JEBIDIA

Pros: I can say nothing positive about this phone...

Cons: freezes, deletes contacts by the bunches, made of hard cheap plastic...

Summary: I had the lg pm-225 for years and was very happy with it but was looking for an update with blue tooth and gps etc so I opted for the lx-400 when it came out...What a disappointment...Owned the phone for about a week and in that time it somehow bulk deleted about 20 contacts and froze up completely 2x...the screen would go black and it wouldn't respond to anything...I thought it turned off...Then about 5 seconds later it would rapid fire all the keys you pressed to catch back up...I've always had a clam shell but decided to return it for the Rumor which is about 30 dollars less...The immediate differences I notice are that the Rumor is made more solid and it has it's charger port on the bottom...The lx 400 has it on the side, and for those of you who tend to keep phones for awhile you know the little cap on those things breaks off eventually and having that gap on the side of the phone when you hold it would be weird...Also the Rumor has a micro SD card slot...I'm going to write a review of the Rumor in a week or so but my first impression is that it is a far better phone than the lx-400...

"I'm not into this Android or Smart Phone BS crap." on by michaelthe1

Pros: It has the loudest & clearest speaker phone out there hands down. It was the most importing features to me.

Cons: Not much to complain about it!

    Summary: Great Phone!

"I didn't believe the negative comments--I should have." on by BSandy2

    Pros: Speaker phone works well.

Cons: 1) Difficult to read screen
    2) Shuts down by itself
    3) If you put it in your pocket or purse be prepared to have it redial by itself over and over again.
    4) Cheap plastic housing.

Summary: Don't waste your time, effort or money. There is a reason why it is so cheap...because it is a piece of junk.
