Pros: bright displays, great layout, stylish, usb charger, SD card memory, takes video, NICE keyboard, over all a great basic phone

Cons: charging cord, external menu, camera

    Summary: PROS:
LOVE the phone! first qwerty keyboard and I am so happy with it :) I like that the phone also has the T9 layout on the front because I didn't want to lose that completely. The layout is really easy to use and I like that I can change the main menu icons (I got rid of the social beat and bing in the main menu because I don't use those features). The phone is really sleek and fits in my pocket without being too bulky or too thin. Despite what others say, it's not a bulky phone. I like the versatility of the usb charger, and the ability to have a memory card. Having a video feature is nice, but the quality could be better...GREATEST keyboard of all time!!!! overall, I'm obsessed! TOTALLY RECOMMEND!
    CONS:
the cord for charging is pretty short, but that's minor, and I just use my old charger with a longer cord. The main (and only other) down side to the octane is the lack of functionality of the external menu. You can still send messages, view pictures, and the basics, but you can't change features, layout, shortcuts, etc. from the front menu. But it is larger than the env3's, so it's not too bad. The camera, although a big step up from my old phone's, is a little disappointing. It takes pictures that are blurry even when I am still, and it takes a while to take a picture. Not too bad, but definitely not to be used in place of a digital camera.
