Pros Full QWERTY keyboard
Pay-as-you-go plan ($2/day on days that you use phone)
Easy to switch from loud ringing to vibrate or silent
Cons Text messaging is buggy (can't text an apostrophe or an ellipsis - the three dots... - or your text will appear to the receiving party as $^&*# #*@^ etc.)
Touch screen is slow to respond
Available screen space is small when texting - crowded with icon
Summary I had the a problem with some of the messages I sent from my LG Prime GoPhone. Th e problem occurred when sending messages to all brands of phones. It only happened with some messages. After reading around on the internet, I noticed that some people had trouble sending messages with an apostrophe in the message on other LG phones. An ellipsis (the three dots in a row) also caused the text message to be lost or garbled. I have been careful to avoid using apostrophes or the three dots for the past week, and no one has told me that I am sending gibberish anymore. I adapt by either writing out words ("do not" rather than "don't") or using a period in place of an apostrophe ("don.t"). And the three dots were never really necessary, just a pause. Hope this helps!
Btw, LG was completely unhelpful with this problem. I am certainly not the only person to have had this problem. They made me do a master reset and they were pushing me to go into an AT&T store so that they could test my SIM card. It doesn't seem like my SIM card is the problem at all.
Pros Looks really sharp, like an pre-paid iphone
Cons Not reliable, touch screen will fail after a while. Screen lock function is frustrating during use.
Summary I've had the ATT prepaid version for six months. It was a step up from my previous flip phone. Thinner, nicer camera with video, FM radio, Mp3 player, SD slot for songs, pics, ect. But the touch screen started acting up after a few months. First , only one side of the screen functions would work. For a while I was able to recalibrate it, just as one would do when they first use the phone. I ended up doing it several times a day until the touch screen completely quit on me. It was only 70 bucks with a 50 dollar air-time card, so it wasn't that expensive of a junk drawer item. I went back to the regular button phone.
"Good Phone!"on by Acutical
Pros Good Touch Screen, Signature, Not Too Much $
Cons None, that i can think of.
Pros Nice size, nice features for a prepaid phone...
Cons The touchscreen just decided not to work one day - then after letting the power completely drain, about two weeks later, the touchscrren started working again - I do not trust it.
Summary I purchased this phone to upgrade from my Samsung A187. I loved the phone and got comfortable with its features...some of which were great like the FM Radio...one morning, I got up for work and typed a text message to a friend. When I got to work...the touchscreen was non responsive. I could use the voice commands on the phone and that was it...all my contacts, apps, everything trapped. I reluctantly transferred my SIM back to my reliable A187, and let the Prime's power dwindle. AT&T said that the phone was not their problem, and LG was about as helpful. Then one day, I put the Prime on the charger and lo and behold, the touchscreen worked again. I had done complete resets and tech troublesooting with LG to no avail. The phone just decided to work again. I don't trust the LG Prime and will probably upgrade to the Thrive Android if I don't go to Metro PCS first. AT&T prepaid is terrible on pricing and support. An extra $25 for 200MB of data on the EDGE network? Psst. 50 bucks total for unlimited everything on Metro PCS and decent Droid phones too? Get you act together, AT&T...greedy sons a b%tches......
Pros Affordable, a pretty good phone for the price.
Texts are shown in conversation bubbles.
You can listen to music (it has a built-in radio and MP3 Player).
Camera has decent quality.
You can make longer videos on this phone.
Good reception when you call som
Cons Very easy to make a mistake when you text (touch screen takes some getting used to).
Phone locks all the time (fortunately it's not hard to unlock it, just annoying when you have to do it every other second).
The MP3 Player can't be used with iTunes.
Summary I got this phone for Christmas and activated it a month later. It's a good phone for the most part. The major problem I had was that it wouldn't play a ringtone when I would get a call...it just said "Call From _____" and repeat it a few times, and that was all. I tried everything to get it to ring right, even took it to an AT&T store and talked to somebody there about it. She told me the one I had was defective when it comes to ringing and that I could try calling the warranty and see about getting a replacement. If you are shopping for a prepaid touch screen phone then I recommend something else, but overall the LG Prime GoPhone is not a bad phone for the price.
