"Great phone. Especially from Alltel."
Pros: Nice small touches that make it feel quality i.e. lights on screen, touch wheel, being able to put photo in subscreen.
Audio quality is great for a phone.
Sturdy (though I wouldn't recommend beating it up, or any phone for that matter)Cons: Touch controls can be a bit sensitive, and takes some getting used to, especially if you never had touch before. (Sensitivity can always be turned lower though).
Summary: Comes in two colors - Black and White, unless with US cellular.
The "plug" / cover for the 3.5mm headphone jack (plus) can get lost.
This is a great phone, it takes adequate pictures (1.3 MP), though if one takes a lot of pictures just get a digital camera.
User interface is nice and clean. There are two ways to view it, in an arc/wheel mode and icon list mode (I prefer arc - goes well with touch wheel).
Features: The standard web browsing and multimedia browsing. Comes with a calculator, etc. (Other things one should expect on a phone), it has a MicroSD slot.
Music Player, best part of the phone (It's not called the Rhythm for nothing) - Superb quality, also comes with a good set of equalizers so one can pick for songs. These equalizers include - clear, natural, flat, live, virtual bass, and comfort. Comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming more mainstream. The stock headphones are actually decent - kind of noise canceling/blocking (has in ear silicone sleeves [small, medium, large]), they look like Sony's which can be good or bad. Their sound quality, being stock, is mediocre at best, but it depends on what you listen to: it handles simplicity very well, so voices with a couple of instruments. If you're looking for orchestra music and very good quality, then I suggest you just go buy a good pair of headphones. So it varies, but I'd say they're on par with Skullcandy's (skullcandy's do not have good quality, sounds really muddy).
Customization - the customization is really only the touch wheel and the color of the lights of the soft keys (blue and red). It is a nice touch that the light will follow you around as a you move the wheel i.e. turn wheel clockwise, light will follow. If you want to make custom ringtones and whatnot, then the only site for Alltel is ventones.com. It is great and very simple to use.
Call quality is very clear and pristine. There is not that, if at all, much muddiness and mush from person to person. The speakerphone button is conveniently placed between the call and end buttons. Keys seem durable, and should not break with repetitive/constant use (I am not an avid texter, so I am not the best source for that).
The only real downside of the phone is the adaptation of getting used to where the buttons are, for me anyways. The touch can be a little too sensitive and one can accidentally hit the back button if they're not too careful (just change sensitivity).
Overall: a great phone, the best one I've owned, plus I got it only for $75. A phone like this coming from Alltel is great. I would recommend if one is with Alltel, and likes to listen to music then this phone is a must.
