"best phone i've ever owned" on by jennicalpblue5

Pros: mp3 external player, great reception, perfect camera, lightweight design without being flimsy

Cons: no flash on camera, no outlet for cell phone charm, ringtone volume low

Summary: overall, this is one of the best phones i have ever had. the camera takes beautiful pictures without blur (a problem i had with my last phone) however, i'm a little dissapointed that it doesn't have a flash (i'll live). the mp3 player when you figure out how to use it has great sound quality and simple external controls so the phone does not have to be open to listen to the music. the volume controls are perfect, inside arrangement is fine (i don't know what cnet is talking about) i can type messages super fast without pressing a wrong button. The phone is lightweight yet durable without feeling like it will break in my hand. previous phones i've had felt like they would fall apart when you flipped them open, but this is not a problem here. pulling up pictures and music is a bit slow, but i use up a lot of the memory so that could be the problem. for some reason, with previous phones i have had horrible reception in my home (which seems to be a dead zone), but with this phone even though there is no external antenna, i have a few bars, but no static, crackling, or dropped calls what-so-ever (a huge factor to me). the ringtone volume is a little low for my taste, have to have it on vol. 7 in order to hear it clearly in the car, but pretty decent in the house. i am obsessed with cell phone charms, so i'm a little sad that there is not a hole for one, but i'll survive. overall, i am completely satisfied with my purchase. i hope to have this phone for years to come.

"Very solid phone" on by smotaa

    Pros: Slim design....Call clarity

Cons: Keypad is not very user-friendly, need time to get accustomed with it.

Summary: Just picked up this phone yesterday, and it's very nice. Navigating can be tricky at first, but it just takes a little getting used to. Call clarity is great and the design is sleek. It's not as slim as the Razr, but it's slim enough for those who are fond of the thin design.

"go for it, even if it is 4th and 15" on by subhashis_biswas

Pros: nice design and feel, good battery life, unique touch pad feature for music players, easy transfer of files to computer, great call quality

Cons: cranky speaker phone, non trivial LG specific headset

Summary: I am the most recent buyer of this phone, and I would say, "I love it".

    Pros
    -Sleek design
very nice looking, great feel in hand
    -Business person look
If you dont work in wall-street or shoot in hollywood, you will feel like one when you have this thing on your hand.
    -Good outer and inner screen
Large display of inner screen and outer screen. You can set seperate wall papers for both outer and inner screens <400KB
-Nice battery life (3 hrs 21 mins roughly, with talk, text, mp3; talk only may take it to 3 hrs 45 mins)
    -Clear call quality.
Very good call quality, and good reception. I have office in basement, easily pics up 3 bars, sometime full bars. Sometimes it switches to 3g network and u can talk even if no bars are showing.I have service with AT&T.
    -Customizable ring tones.
Though number of preloaded ringtones are only limited, you can download <600KB ringtones from your computer, transfer them to your phone and play.
    -Ease of data transferring
Buy a 1-2GB microSD card from ebay/amazon for $10-20 with a SD adapter, and transfer files between your computer and phone in a snap. You can load music, movies , videos, and play them in your phone. Musics automatically go to the music folder, where they sort by artist, album, genre. You can create an adhoc playlist as well.
    -Touch pad music player
Coolest feature I have seen on a phone The dotted lines outside the phone outer cover is actually a Touchpad. Hold the side volume rocker for a sec, and the touch pad gets activated. then tap on the touchpad twice, it will take you to the music library.
You can even use the touchpad to call back missed calls, listen voice message, open text messages and many more. Best thing I have ever seen in a cell phone
    -Dedicated camera button
It has a dedicated camera button outside, it allows you to take self portrait

    Cons
cranky loudspeaker, LG special headset, not all type of video supported

As I said, go for it, no mater what the score is

"Good phone with minor ergonomics issues" on by sumitsu

Pros: Compact, fits easily in a pocket; good sound quality in my experience; plenty of features.

Cons: Volume buttons are hard to reach; flip is slightly awkward at times; internal screen quality decent, but substandard.

Summary: I've had the LG Trax for about a month and a half now, and have been pleased with it overall. The sound quality has met my expectations; I've not had any trouble hearing or being heard. The speakerphone volume could be better; even on maximum, I have trouble hearing it while on the highway.

It is fairly comfortable to hold, open, and close, although it feels a bit overly stiff when closing with one hand. The hinge is slightly loose when the flip is closed, but it is not too bad so far, and it feels solid when open.

The internal screen is not bad, but doesn't have the resolution or color depth of similar phones, such as the Razr or the Samsung SGH-A717. (For me, it came to a choice between the A717 and the Trax, and the Trax won out primarily because it felt more comfortable in the hand, and because of the 3-second delay required to light up the external screen on the A717.)

Unlike CNET, I haven't been too bothered by the flat keypad; the number and dial/disconnect keys are easy enough to find, although the function keys at the top tend to blend together. My biggest complaint about the phone is that the volume controls/camera button on the side are so difficult to find, reach, and distinguish, both when I'm talking and when the phone is closed. I have several times accidentally hit the camera button when I meant to adjust the volume, or adjusted the volume the wrong way.

Overall, though, I've been happy with it.
