"Do NOT buy this phone! You have been WARNED" on by worksplays
Pros: - takes pretty good quality pictures with the built-in 2MP camera
Cons: - NO slide to un-lock feature
- Touch to un-lock feature is too sensitive
- buttons can be accidently pressed
- cannot upload media to PC when USB cable is connected
- vibration is very weak
- the phone re-boots and shuts on and off by itselfSummary: I made a big mistake when I bought this phone. This is NOT the type of phone you can put in your jean pocket and walk around with. There is NO "Slide to Unlock" feature like the Apple iPhone has and so this is a huge problem. This LG Versa phone only has a "Touch to Unlock" feature which means that it only takes one sensitive touch and the phone is free to be accidentally touched by anything that gets in contact with the touch screen such as the coins in your pocket, tissue paper or napkins in your pocket.
What this phone needs is a "Slide to Unlock" feature or a "Hold Button for 5 seconds to Unlock" feature. The point is, this LG Versa phone is too easy to unlock. I ended up paying for calls that I did not intentionally make because the stupid phone was in my pocket and the coins in my pocket pushed the Unlock icon and then dialled the phone numbers in my Contact List repeatedly when I was walking around with it. It has accidentally hit the Messaging icon and Wireless Web icon on numerous occasions too and I ended up paying for data that I did not intentionally send.
Furthermore, the "Handset Up" button which is the bottom left button on this phone redials the last number that you called if you hit it twice. So, imagine having this phone in your pocket and you accidentally unlock it, you walk around with in your tight jean pocket or purse and the phone dials the last number that you called without you knowing. This has happened to me so many times and I am so frustrated with this phone. I am going to return it and exchange it for an iPhone.
The touch screen is so sensitive that anything can be used to touch it and not just the skin on your fingers. Put this phone in your purse or pocket together with the car/house keys, the coins, clothing, or paper towels and they can touch the screen and accidentally unlock your phone without you knowing it.
The vibration of this phone is so weak that you can barely feel it when it is in your pocket. When this phone is connected to your PC computer thru the USB cable, it only recharges the battery and you cannot sync any files to or from this phone. You can only copy or move files to your PC by inserting the microSD card into the phone which really defeats the purpose of the USB cable that it came with.
On numerous occasions, this LG Versa phone re-boots all by itself while I was texting a message. Sometimes I pull out this phone from my pocket and realized that the phone had been turned off by itself. Because the phone was turned off by itself a few times, I may have missed a few phone calls. These are obviously firmware glitches that LG needs to fix.
The on-screen QWERTY keyboard is a bit small and does not respond well. Sometimes I have to hit it a few times to get the letter I want and typos happen all the time with this cramped on-screen keyboard. The music player in the "My Sounds" section can play music but it can only play one song at a time - it cannot play one song after another song continuously. There is NO music playlist feature available.
Enough said, I am taking this phone back to the store in exchange for an iPhone. I hope this review will help others and prevent them from buying this glitchy phone. I really think that the firmware on this LG Versa phone needs to be updated with bug fixes....and a "Slide to Unlock" feature would definitely come in handy. -

"SCREW THIS PHONE!" on by hippi5678
Pros: This phone i honestly would LOVE. it has three rotatable screens so you can easily organize shortcuts, media and favorites. the contact organization is perfect! not clunky and no sliding or any excessive buttons to push to unlock
Cons: FREEZES! ALL THE TIME! once frozen you need to take the battery out and turn it back on. VERY fragile (I just broke my third) Common enough problem when the touch screen randomly stops and phone requires replacement.
Summary: I loved my versa at first, for me it was like the perfect phone!! it was a flawless phone for about a month. Then it started freezing CONSTANTLY. (at least twice or three times a day) it's rather clunky and easy to drop as well because of the design. Soon it would not charge anymore so i had to go get it replaced, luckily it was still under waranty. All pictures were lost along with contacts. So then i had my second one! Again i loved it until it started freezing and the touch screen started developing little cracks for no reason. This one was sitting on a step of my porch. Fell onto the one below it and stopped working. So I had to use an old phone for a while! then about three months ago i got another versa! I was thrilled and again the freezing problem resumed. Two days ago (just out of waranty) my touch screen just stopped for no reason and is broken now. I tried to order the keyboard add on but they did not have it. I could still make calls and was doing fine until today when the speakers stopped working. NOW ITS OFFICIALLY DEAD. Im now searching for a replacement and this time i know i will NEVER GET A VERSA AGAIN. Bottom line: its undependable, glitchy and not worth it. Find a better phone!

"Good media/messaging phone, but not meant for much else" on by nmwheele
Pros: Small. Keyboard attachment works well and looks nice. Touch screen works well. Good contact integration.
Cons: Keyboard attachment adds lots of bulk. External screen on keyboard is not very functional. Making a call with keyboard is difficult. Web-browsing sub-par at best.
Summary: This phone is good for media/messaging, but web-browsing is not very user friendly or fast.
Contact integration works well with a large list and has 1 mobile, home, work, and fax numbers and 2 e-mails for each contact, which is huge. The only thing they're missing is a mailing address.
The touchscreen does work well, but you have to calibrate it first with a pen or a paperclip (don't use your finger, it'll be inaccurate). Be sure that you have a screen protector before you do this.
For a 2.0 MP camera, the images that come from this are better than you'd expect. Software has many features for The only downside is that I somehow always find a fingerprint on the lens that I have to clean off before I take a picture.
The Keyboard attachment is a must have if you use this for e-mail or heavy messaging, but if you make more phone calls than texts/e-mails, then you might not want to get it. The added padding/protection that it provides is also nice. Well made and looks professional.
I haven't tried any other attachments, but I haven't had the need to yet. -
"Pretty good phone." on by DMJeff243
Pros: Size, call quality, fun touchscreen, battery life
Cons: lack of physical keyboard ($30 accessory)
Summary: I have had this phone for about 9 months now. I have not had any major problems with it, which is good considering i have bad luck with phones. I do not use the web at all on it, but i don't really need to. The one major drawback is the lack of a physical keyboard / keypad. If your previous phone had a full qwerty keyboard, the texting on this phone is a virtual keyboard on the touchscreen. This was the case with me, and i had to shell out the extra $30 to get the keyboard. After that i was fine with it. The keyboard is also a cover for the screen, which is a huge advantage, because not only does it protect it, but it also keeps your butt from calling people, which will happen if you don't cover it. The touchscreen in pressure sensitive, not heat, so it will call people and get on the internet in your pocket without something covering up the screen, like the keyboard. Battery life on this phone is pretty good. With less than average use, it can be charged every other day. I charge mine every day, just because i don't want it going dead if i need it. With excessive use, mine has a quarter battery at the end of the day (150+ texts or an hour on the phone or something). Call quality is nice and clear, plenty of volume. No complaints there.
