    Pros: Loud speaker

Cons: The reception is extremely poor. Can't turn off all anouncements Voice dialing is a pain Voice program is a pain. Buy the VX6000 if you don't need a speaker phone. The reception is 100x's better.

"GREAT SPEAKER/ VOICE COMMANDS AND DESIGN" on by nutmuffin

Pros: LOUD SPEAKER, VOICE COMMANDS,LIGHTED KEYPAD,TEXT MSSGING

Cons: no camera,. better wallpaper and ringtone choices

Summary: I was entitled to a new phone for 100.00 under Verizons "new every 2" plan.
I could have put that 100. towards the newest LGVX8000 ,the VCAST phone, but,it didnt have the features most important to me and the VCAST network wasnt availablie in my area yet,so why give up whats important to me, If I cant even use the VCAST ? !
Instead I bought the LGVX4500 about 1 month ago. The reason I chose this phone, is because my requirements were :loud speaker phone and voice commands, lighted dial and easy to use.
(I wasnt looking for a camera phone, but I noted this in the "Cons", for those who would find that important.)
This phone has everything I was looking for. I have a job which requires me to work till 11pm sometimes, and when Im about to leave I call home to say Im on my way. The dial pad lights up a beautiful bright blue, no trouble finding the keys in the dark.
I put the phone in "driving mode" so that I can make and receive calls on voice command. I clip the phone to my sun visor, and Im ready to go. An automated voice tells you when you have a call coming in even when the phone is closed!, just flip it open , and start talking . When its in driving mode I flip it open and the phone says "please say a command" . I speak the name of the person I want to call and it confirms and says "calling".I love this, lets face it, thats cool.
I also like the rounded design, I find it easy to handle. It fits into my pocket or handbag quite easily.
My only minor complaint is that it could have better wallpaper and ringtone choices built in. but; I can download more of those
from the Verizon "Get it Now" website.
I have already downloaded British Invasion ringtones. So now when my phone rings it plays "Hello,Goodbye" by the Beatles !
I think the battery life is just fine.
I leave it on for about 8hrs per day or longer.I take it to work with me carry and it in my pocket, and sometimes I forget to shut it off when I come home, but it doesnt go down to 1 bar of battery till after about 3-4 days. It charges back up quickly, with no problem .
Im discovering new applications for it every day from the Get It Now site.

For anyone who needs a loud large speaker, voice commands and lighted keypad, this phone is for you !

"Does the job" on by galewisnhp

Pros: Great speakerphone, good reception and sound, voice dialing works great

Cons: Occassional reboots while sitting idle

Summary: Overall, the best phone I've carried for some time (Motorola V60, a couple of Audiovoxes). Bought for the speakerphone/driving mode, and it has not disappointed. Other reviewers complain about the speakerphone - too loud, not loud enough, bad mike, etc. I use it in lieu of a headset in the car and it works great, even with a window open and sitting in the ashtray. While in driving mode, the voice dialing works without a hitch; hit one button, tell it to dial a contact or an actual phone number (not in your contact list) and you're off to the races. Even when not in the car, it's easier to use the voice dialing than to look up a name in the contact list.

A note to those complaining about no "vibrate only" mode, LG calls it manner mode and it's accessed by holding down the volume down button (or the "*" key) for a couple of seconds.

This phone is kinda bare bones - no camera, no games, etc - but then I bought it to make phone calls, not as a replacement for a Gameboy.

One thing to look out for, though. It will occassionally "reboot" itself while idle (I've never had it do this during a call). If not for that, I probably would have given this phone a 9.

    "Will Let You Down" on

    Pros: Decent Features Good Speakerphone

Cons: If it gets the slightest bit wet will lock up into "car kit" mode and then you'll have to carry around a headset 24/7. And don't even think about LG or Verizon fixing it. They know this phone sucks, that;s why they're advertising for them so much. RUN
