"A Great Cell Phone with PTT Feature" on by scott.horton
Pros: Great features for a cell phone such as a very good speaker phone and great voice recognition for making and receiving calls as well as a sizeable speaker for great clarity
Cons: The location of the speakerphone button is easy to activate by accident when using the phone normally. The push to talk alert tone needs to be louder
Summary: After using this phone for nearly 3 weeks, I find the features included with this phone to be very good; especially the driving mode and voice recognition. The PTT (Push to Talk) works well and the built-in speaker makes it very clear to hear and understand the other person. This phone definitely has the best speakerphone on a cell phone that I've ever used. My only complaint about the phone is the location of the speakerphone button on the right side of the phone which is very easy to accidently activate with your thumb if using it with your right hand. My other complaint is that the PTT alert tone needs to be louder. If the phone is not in speakerphone mode, you can barely hear the tone at all. To get around this, myself and the other users with whom I work just use the barge call feature. Another complaint is not with the phone, but with Verizon Wireless who is NOT offering group calling with the PTT and you can only use it with one person at a time. I work with several other IT people and we bought these phones not knowing that Verizon had done away with the group calling feature with PTT. Verizon used to have the group calling feature but after talking to a rep, they said that it was overloading the system and has to be worked out another way. It seems that using PTT with only one user at a time defeats the use of PTT since you can just call the other user without using your minutes anyway since you can do in network calling for free. I'm hopeful that Verizon will bring back the group PTT calling feature since this is the way most people want to use PTT and so they can compete effectively with Nextel. Unfortunately, I do not have Nextel in my area. Also, there is about a 2-4 second delay time when using PTT but that is not a big deal although it would be nice if it were instant.
All in all, if you are a Verizon customer and want a great cell phone with the PTT feature then I think you will be happy with this phone with all of its great features. -
"This is a very good phone, PTT is very comparable to nextel" on by locust43
Pros: PTT, best coverage nation wide and no roaming
Cons: Alert tone is not loud anough
Summary: We purchased this phone as a replacement from our nextel, it is PTT over CDMA, 2-4 sec delay but it is still as good as nextel because even if we cant use the ptt on roaming we can still make a call. I recomend this over the V60p because it is alot lighter

"A super tough awesome phone" on by narn3049
Pros: READ SUMMARY
Cons: READ SUMMARY
Summary: These phones definetely deserve a 5.0 HONESTLY Well I will describe them in the way that i owned them what happened and then pros and cons.
1. The first phone was a big upgrade then what I had before. My dad had one and then I had one as well. It was cool and worked. It continued to work until I dropped it on the hinge and the screen went on and off a lot. So I got a replacemement model.
2. I owned this phone for about a year. I got tired of the frequent shut downs and restarts and all that, and i tossed it and i broke the screen. I almost took off a lot of the rating because of that, but was given a 4700, that COMPLETELY blew this cons away. It was an automatic 5.0
3. After my 4650 was having issues, they had an updated version which was the LG VX4700. I purchased it because, it was rugged and since I worked with people that had this phone I could use the PTT. i heavily dropped this phone. It seems sometimes that the screen went out and the battery wasn't that great after dropping it repeatedly etc. It never gave up and it finally shut off for the last time in 2008 like 3 years after I got the phone. It was an amazing update over the 4650. I'm glad that verizon convinced me to get that one.
PROS: for the first 4650, it died a lot with full charge, I considered getting the extended battery. When it broke all of the answers of battery issues were resolved as it must have been the phone in some way.
Durable: I cannot tell you/or count, how long I dropped this phone. All of them were heavily scraped. 4650 first one even got dunked. It didn't work for 4 days after and I was convinced I would have to switch. Tried to power it on again and if it didnt work was going to go get a different phone, well it turned on and I used it right after that.
I miss that Verizon stopped giving all of the accessories to you with the new phones like they did with the LG phones. I wish that they'd do that again. It was a very good phone though! Go get it today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
"Cheap cost and cheap performance" on by MrObveeus
Pros: It's a phone
Cons: Car kit mode is a plague!
Summary: This phone has so many problems it would take too long to recite them all. The problems when it kicks to Car Kit mode for no reason are enough to avoid this one.

"One of the best phones I've ever had" on by Mstags0
Pros: Loud spearker phone, user friendly, hands free mode, extremely functional
Cons: average battery life, strange look, small internal screen
Summary: This is one of the greatest phones I've ever owned. My fiance and I needed push to talk and did not want to go with Nextel. We knew that Verizon would have the best to offer. This phone is extremely functional with many many options. There are functions to record voice memos and even use them as a ringtone. The color and resolution on the small but nice screen are great. The speakerphone is loud and audible. I am very picky when it comes to phones and have always been particular to Motorolas by Nextel. If you are picky and want something with many options and same capability as Nextel go with this phone!
