Pros: Crystal clear interior screen, long battery life, good keypad, easy to use

Cons: Somewhat blurry exterior LCD screen, is prone to scratches but what phone isn't?

Summary: This is just a good, user-friendly phone.
Everyone's falling into the Razr-hype, and I did have the opportunity to purchase one, but instead I opted to pay $30 more and get this phone. All of my friends prefer this phone over the Razr, and I can see why.

First of all, you'll notice that this phone is somewhat "stylish". It gleams and isn't too bulky but it's not too small that you can barely dial a number.

The camera is decent. The flash is probably the best flash I've seen on a phone. If you turn on nightvision, wow! It burns my eyes, it's so bright.

Now, some people have been complaining about reception. My friends mostly have the LG VX5200 or the Motorola E815 and we all have the same amount of bars. Maybe it just depends on where you live, I'm not sure.

There are a lot of ways to personalize it too. I liked how you can change the way the menu is set-up. You can basically almost change any setting on this phone.

As for Verizon including "crappy ringtones", well all phones have those ringtones. Of course Verizon wants you to buy ringtones, why wouldn't they?

However, you can record a sound, send it to yourself, and save it as a ringtone as an alternate to buying ringtones.

All in all, it's a very good phone for its price. It's simple to use and has a great look and feel to it.

    Updated
So now I've this phone for a little over a month. It still works beautifully but I have dropped it twice.
Since it's a little on the bigger side, it tends to slide out of pockets. It looks a little dented up, but not too bad. However, since I've been so sick of dropping it and getting it scratched up, I looked online for hours for a cheap, good case. I found a great site: www.daydeal.com. They have great cases for a really good price, plus free shipping for all cell phone accessories.

I'm also thinking about buying the Vcast Pack, and a memory card for my phone, so I can listen to music. Still thinking about it, though.

I read your post and found it to be quite helpful. I'm currently waiting on receipt of an LG VX8300 and after reading your review, I'm actually pretty excited. Wanted to pass along a site for ringtones that you might find decent: www.ringtonesoup.com. The tones are free to up- and download. You don't have to becme a member to download anything on the site. I think the only cost on the site is for text messaging. If you have a package you pay for through your service provder, then there's really no issue. I've downloaded and uploaded several good tones to replace the lame ones LG seems to favor for their phones.

Does anyone know if there is a way to keep the front display lit or in some way showing the time w/o having to press a button to do it? I tend to use my phone as my watch and miss the front display my old LG vx phone had.
Thanks, L

I have had this phone for 2 weeks. i had a new razr from cingular, but wanted the mp3 capability. i have the vcast package and love the vz navigator. i tgransferred all of my mp3' and wma's using the media cable that you have to purchase and downloaded a free software program called bitpim. all in all the phone works great. the built in speakerphone actually sounds good, unless there is a lot of ambient noise. i purchase the 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adaptor from verizon so i could use regular headphone or external speakers. i am planning on buying a decent pair of noise cancelling headphones for listening to music when i'm flying. battery life is awsome. i have played music all night long and still had half my battery thenext morning.

get this phone, you won't be disapointed. camera works good. reception seems fine and the speakerphone is the best i have ever heard. (this is the reason i took the razr back)

Hi there, thanks for the review - it helped me decided to buy the phone. I'm just getting used to it as well and would like to transfer an old ringtone that isn't available for download anymore. Can you help me? I wasn't able to figure it out myself. You can reply to this or email me at grasshoppergirl1@comcast.net. Thanks.

I just got this phone a few days ago, still learning a lot about it, I see you said that you can send music to your phone and hten use it as a ringtone (rather than buying them). How do you do that?

reply to this or please email me @ itsdan89@yahoo.com
