"well worth the money. here are some tips and uploaders."
Pros: qwerty keyboard, long life battery, ok camera, does not get all that warm when talking on it, large inside color screen.
Cons: Verizon really lacks with the content. Some games, ring tones and wallpapers, but nothing great. Many applications cost per month.
Summary: in all i am happy with this phone. i am disappointed with the lack of verizon content though. many applications if not all of them cost a per month rate which is not cool. once i learn how to upload my own wallpapers and ringtones, then this phone will be perfect. other then the content this phone is great. smaller then what people have said. the phone is a bit thicker but that is understandable. large 262,144 color screen inside. here is the full stats from phonescoop.com http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=704
here is a few verizon uploaders.

sprintusers.com and howardforums.com are the best places to look for info on this phone and verizon's services all around.
enjoy!Updated
i also purchased a VX9800 data cable off of Ebay and it came with two CD's.
this is what they claim the CD's have on them.
* Applications
* USB Drivers
* 10,000 Ringtone
* 4,000 Wallpapers
* Get it Now Games (not for all models)
* Instructions (not for all models)
so if this is true, then there will be more content to add to your 9800. you can always upload wallpapers and ring tones to your phone by using an uploader to send the content to your phone. or you can use a data cable.Updated
The CD's I ordered off of Ebay only have Java on them. after looking forever trying to find BREW content, I have come to understand there is none. BREW venders make most of the money with sales, so there is no free BREW.
I give up! I am taking the phone back tomorrow and am ending my service. I guess I will try Sprint PCS out.
sorry forks if I got your hopes up... There is no way around BREW...

Tone this is a great program for ringtones and wallpapers. You go to the site and download their program. Then you can pick music from your computer and choose the bits of music you want for your sound or ring tone. Then it just sends the sound right to your phone. It is so easy. I have not figured out how to make your own personal wallpapers yet, but you might have to buy the full version for that. They do have some wallpapers you can choose from with the free version. This program will work with quite a few different phones too.

Im having issues with my LG VX 9800. The thing is that my bluetooth feature on my phone will not stay connected with my headset. I can connect and pair it no prob. but after a few mins sometimes after an hour(its very speratic) it says "bluetooth has been disonected". and I have to go back into the menu and reconnect it. I have used 2 differant motorola headsets and am now using the logictech headset. Verizon has now replaced my cell phone 5 times as well. Does anyone know whats going on or having these issues. According to Verizon this is unheard of and I am must be doing something wrong. But none the less im under the 1yr warranty so they have to continue to swap them out.

I've found plenty of BREW downloads for the 9800 & now I've even heard I can take it to the Verizon store to get it flashed for the new Verizon V-CAST Over-The-Air Music Dowload service so I'm saying so long to Sprint & I-Tunes. My Verizon "V" is awesome!

Do you really like having your freedom taken away from you? Verizon's BREW Interface takes away all of your choices. You can't customize, or add third party sofeware. You have to pay Verizon for access to the features they block off. With the VX9800, you have no true web access, and you have to pay $19.99 a month for e-mail sync access. I have two Java based e-mail clients on my A900 and I only had to pay a small, one time fee for one those programs. I did not have to pay Sprint anything, because Java is everywhere.
On my PPC 6700, I use the EV-DO access all of the time for $15 a month. No limitations, any kind of software I want, basically my phone, my features, my content. -
Does this phone have calendaring, and task features with a sync cable? Any pda aspect to it, or just for texting and email?

I really do love this phone but boy do I hate Verizon's lack of downloadable programs! I also switched over to Verizon and this is my very first EV-DO phone. I thought it was going to have better web access. So far all of Verizon's new EV-DO phones except for the Treo 700 have pathetic web browsers. I mean come on! The RAZR has a WAP 2.0 browser!! Seriously Verizon, what is your angle?????? My first Nokia had that browser!! This is not fair at all!

I am using your links and trying to upload photos to be used as wallpapers. I used IrfanView to resize the photos to 320x256 which is the screen size listed for our phone. but when I upload them the images are still to small to be used as a full screen wallpapers.
Please let me know how to resize the photos so I can use one of the file uploaders to upload the photos onto my phone.
I don't have a data cable yet so I just want to upload them until I get around to buying a cable.
