"Better than some other reviews" on by merowland

Pros: BATTERY COVER ISN'T THAT BAD, YOU JUST HAVE TO COMPLETELY SNAP IT IN. I thought it was crappy too, until I played with it and realized it DOES SNAP COMPLETELY CLOSED. Nice display. Loud speaker phone. Nice camera, doesn't lint up.

Cons: I don't know what button I'm pushing, but the "my music" keeps popping up. I have to open the phone and hit end to get to regular phone functions. Not great sound quality, but better than most "cheap" phones.

Summary: Really this review was to shut the "BACK BATTERY COVER SUCKS" people up. This phone doesn't quite live up to the hipe, but it surely isn't as bad as some of the reviews I have read here. Just snap the back shut all the way and it is great.

Durable phone. Used to have the Motorola 325i. That is the most durable phone ever. I put that phone through more duress than any phone should ever have had to endure (I have a somewhat stressful profession and the phone was sent into a wall or the floor more than a few times). Always came out without a scratch (well maybe a few gashes) and always worked perfectly. I don't know that the Adventure will be able to handle such misuse. Time will tell. Overall, I like the phone, but it's not quite the gearhead elitest phone is claims to be.

The music player popping up when the phone is closed is the most annoying flaw with this phone. It comes on when you hit the PTT (red) button on the side (which happens every time I put the phone in my pocket) and you have to open the phone up and clear it to remove it. I've been locking the keypad, and the 4 sec pause button is new to me (will have to try that). Seriously, there should be an option to disable this. My next step is to run a bead of superglue around the PTT button.

The battery and the battery cover do in fact SUCK!. Even with the plactic cover SNAPPED on, the cover does not fit securely. However, as I noted in a reply to another post, a battery upgrade with an upgraded battery cover is available for $50. Because I liked the phone overall, I ordered the battery and cover upgrade.

Hi Had same problem with music player. There are two ways to fix.
    1. Lock keypad by pressing right smart key.
    2. Press and hold pause button on front for 4 seconds to shut off music player.
I agree I wish it would only turn on when I want it to.
