"Don't expect to use anything but basic functions."0.5 starson by Mister_Krash
Pros: It's water-resistant. The Motorola Philippines tech center is impeccably polite. They are sorry that you are unable to use the phone and put you on interminable holds while they seek advice from Level 2 Tech Support.
Cons: Tech support uninformed on this phone. Manual is rudimentary. Set/Tools 2 tools, 8 USB connection allows music, ring-tone, and contact uploads IF you figure it out on your own. Ring tone folder must be created by user as "my_ringtones."
Summary: Pro: Every phone should be water proof and I hope this one will be. A big flash card will make this an acceptable MP3 player too. I don't use Push-to-Talk today but it's nice to have the option.
Con: Motorola and Verizon make it really hard to use the calendar, contacts, notes, and ring tone features. Verizon tech support swore that VCast was the only way I'd get a ring tone on the phone but the process to load your own is relatively simple. They also swore I'd have to use their website to manage my contacts but the phone will upload and download contact files easily as VCF cards if you create a "my_contacts" folder. I love to store information in the notes files of my phone but I can't upload text files to this phone as I have with every other. Tech support swears it can't be done.
Bottom line: Look for another provider and another phone. You deserve to know how your phone works without banging your head against a wall.
You pay enough for data transfer not to be bullied into using the airwaves instead of your USB cord. If you want to sample non-copyrighted music and make your own ring tones for free, you should be able to read your owners manual and see how easy it is.
