Pros Though this phone is bigger and not as "COOL" as other phones, it performs like a champ!! I dropped my phone in the pool on accident. I quickly opened it, removed the battery and dried it off and it still works great with no problems!! A good solid phone!
Cons Again, not the coolest phone and it doesn't have a key pad for texting.
Summary Overall, it is a well made product. I have not had any problems with this phone that I had with my i680. Yes, it was only a short dunk in the pool, but ANY other phone would have been done-for!! I would buy this phone again and I would recommend it to others. In fact, I already have two on my account!!
Pros MP3 player is great.
Cons This is the first phone I have had that I can not get reception in my office at work. Camera doesn't take very good photos on the bast setting.
Summary I would not recommended this phone to anyone.
Pros The phone itself is an excellent device initially. It appears to have reasonable drop armor, a sealed battery / card bay, a nice screen setup, and great quality when new.
Cons This phone is billed as part of their "rugged" series and appears to be built so -until it is used on a regular basis. I have a "fleet" of 8. 4 have broken hinges. There are two problems. In normal outdoor work environment conditions, sweat or humidit
Summary The only reason the other four have not failed yet is that they are spares and are held by low-use individuals. The more use the phones see, the faster they have worn out.CNET's "cons" size is smaller than listed -it cut off part of my review. The hinge wear is a known issue - google search "i680 hinge bulletin" and look at the motorola link. I suspect that the i686 has the same problem and Motorola is trying to hide from all of the bad i680 reviews.
I suspect that the phones will be repaired or replaced with refurbished units that have other problems. Those phones will fail and Motorola will find an excuse to not replace them again.
IMHO, Motorola has fallen far from the days of the indestructible STAR TAC series flip phones that gained them a spot as the go-to company for quality durable industrial grade cell phones. For the price, this phone is not expected to be a "throwaway" phone.
A user should expect long term durability. This phone has not delivered.

Pros Semi-rugged, Call quality is good, Water resistant, PTT speaker is good
Cons Breaks hinge joints easily, Camera quality is dismal, Pieces fall off it you abuse it slightly, battery cover is difficult to pry off, Stops sending and receiving text messages randomly and frequently, sprint sucks
Summary I bought this phone since it was supposed to be some rugged brute of a phone with good call quality, but I've been disappointed. I've been through 2 phones already, and this one is now broken and its barely hanging in there, BUT to its credit, its still working despite the damage. Its internal hinge on the left side of the phone have snapped and now the screen is held on by one of the 2 hinges, and the screen barely hangs on, it doesn't stay open and the call quality has sharply declined since the damage. This isn't the only phone that has done this, my first 2 and my dad's phone did this on the same side the same way as well. As I said, despite this, it still works, it still makes calls and texts, although it stops randomly, and it still works like it should. The phone also stops transmitting and receiving information, meaning, at random points in time, my phone will not receive or send text messages and it won't start again unless I turn the phone off for a few minutes, and it has done that with my first and current phone, my first phone did it with extreme frequency, but my current one does it every couple of days.
I personally would never buy a phone again, and I will think twice before I buy anything made by Motorola again. It still works, despite damage that is not just my phone, but every single one I've come into contact with, and Its transmitters are also bad. The only reason it has 2 stars is because it still makes calls, and text messages every once and a while
Pros Its a beast, the only phone i have found that can take the beatings i dish out working as a contractor.
i put in a micro sd and the music sounds great
spotlight is very bright
Cons The inbox for texting seems a little wierd, might just have to get used to it.
Summary If you dont care about the internet on your phone and you need something to count on this is the perfect phone.
