  • "Unattractive and just a bit too small"
    on by stevejbons

Pros Decent texting functions and okay sound quality.

Cons Screen size and resolution will make you nostalgic for phones you owned years ago! Volume and Walkie Talkie buttons on the left EDGE of the phone are continually activated just by picking the phone up and/or handling it. Bad idea, Moto engineers!

Summary Not a bad choice if you don't want to shell out for a BlackBerry and need to go with Boost because you're tired of getting ripped off by cell phone contracts. Motorola really needs to amp up their cool factor though. Use it for six months and then give to your favorite toddler as a starter phone.

  • "I like this phone"
    on by chillndmost

Pros This phone takes care of the basics voice and text. The call quality is slightly better than any other nextel I have had and so is the reception.

Cons The screen is low resolution and the keyboard is a bit on the small side also the web browser is useless so I had to load opera mini.

Summary I switched to boost mobile from sprint. I was sporting a blackberry with the simply everything plan untill it broke and did not want to sign a new 2 year contract. Working in the construction trade the ptt comes in handy because most other folks I work with have nextel. Times are tough and not everybody has the money to drop on new palm pixis and iphones. The 50 dollar a month plan puts an extra 50 in my pocket every month. So for making phone calls ,texting and checking some emails in a pinch this phone is good for the price. Intalling opera mini is a must for this phone.

Pros Having the Qwerty keyboard is nice, it's the main reason I picked this phone. It also seems to get better reception than my last phone as well. It's also pretty light and compact. Pretty much the only positive things I have to say about it.

Cons See below, 250 characters isn't enough for me to list them all.

Summary I switched to Boost for the Unlimited plan from another Sprint based network. My previous phone was an LG Rumor. I'm currently thinking of unlocking it so I can use it instead. When listing the features they say it will play MP3s, what they don't tell you is the files need to be formatted to 8 bit mono.
You don't want to fill up this phone with MP3s anyway because the other thing they fail to mention when listing the features is that it only has 20mb of storage space and NO MICRO SD SLOT. Even my V3 RAZR had an SD slot.
The web system that comes pre-installed is crap, but supposedly you can install Opera. You can't load custom ringtones without going through a huge hassle, boost pretty much wants to make sure you spend the $2.99 for their ringtones, so if you want something original or not offered on their site you're pretty much screwed. If you do end up getting this phone you want to get a micro USB cable so you can tweak it.
