"Great sound/reception" on by olieander
Pros: Sound
Reception
Battery life
Small sizeCons: Music turns on accidentally
Summary: I am a professional, I need my cell phone several times a day to make work-related calls, and so there are three things that are paramount to me: Good reception; great sound; and battery life.
I did a lot of research, and found this phone to be the best combination of all three on the Verizon network. Besides that, the phone is compact (can fit into my jeans pocket) and nice-looking.
Unless you need really advanced video/photo/PDA bling, THIS is the phone to get. (All that other bling takes away from battery life anyway, and explains why most cell phones on the market today only have ~3 hours of talk time on each battery recharge!) -
"great basic phone. good call quality." on by cdox
Pros: I dropped this phone while riding motorcycle, found next day on highway & it still worked, had not been run over, but was out all night.
Cons: will drop calls on fringes of towers...Verizon issue?
Summary: I have had good service for six months. disabled the features I don't use & works well for basic needs.

"What a tedious piece of junk!" on by RantingNRaving
Pros: It's a cell phone.
Cons: It's not a GOOD cell phone.
Summary: My goodness, what a tedious piece of junk! Sound is tinny and distorted. Setting up and customizing the layout, sounds, menus is tedious and annoying. Various hands-free ear buds are not compatible with the jack even though they specify that they are. Memory card is a pain in the hiney - you have to remove the back of the phone and the battery, and then jam the card in, unlike a lot of phones with side ports on them for the card. You can't load and save your sounds, songs, or own ring tones as usable ring tones - you have to purchase them individually or settle for the cheese that comes with the phone. The camera takes very poor grainy pictures - a 7-11 security camera would probably have better clarity. The quick key (hitting "1" and pressing "Send") to check voicemail does not work (it dials and you get a Verizon Wireless error message), you have to dial the entire number. I guess I could say SOMETHING nice and that is that the battery has lasted almost a week, but that is because I hardly used the phone because I hate it and it is a P.I.T.A. The phone does not come with a manual - you have to download it in PDF format (although this is probably becoming the status-quo and wave of the future so too bad, so sad for me and millions of others). Start the pity-party! This thing is going back tomorrow and I do not care how much I have to pay - what with the restocking fee, etc.

"Better phone than my Samsung Hue II" on by KirbyChinchilla
Pros: Audio quality is great. My Hue II always sounded like water running in the background when I used speaker phone. The display is also nice. I like having the touch controls on the front. I also like using the speaker phone while the Entice is closed.
Cons: It's great that you can use an 8GB micro SD, BUT in order to use photos for picture ID or use your own ring tones, the files HAVE to be on the phone, not on the card. You can transfer files to the phone, but you run out of space quickly.
Summary: Great phone with a few limitations. It was an upgrade from the Samsung Hue II. It seems solid and I like the feel. The back is rubber so it doesn't slide on surfaces. We ordered four free on-line with two-year contracts through Verizon. They were $40 each in the Verizon store. Also, YOU DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE A DATA PLAN with the Entice, which I thought was great. I was told that when I need the data plan, I can purchase it for a month and then cancel. I might be using this option for the VZ Navigator. I'm not much of a texter, but I found it easy enough to use for the amount of texting that I do. I also like that the speaker phone, which you can use with the phone closed. The sound is clear. Some people said they were having trouble finding their music for the music player. Just read the directions. It's very easy to do. I had no problems using the music I loaded from my PC to the micro SD card.
Reasons why I bought this phone:
Small yet has big screens
Easy to use
Music player
VZ Navigator
Sound quality is great
Camera
Doesn't require a data plan
Can use my music from PC for ring tones
Easy to transfer files from PC to phone with 8GB Micro SD card
After the research I did on phones, this is something that makes me (30 something) happy, and my husband (who has a brain injury) finds it easy to use for calling, and my parents (70s) find it easy to use with great sound. My father's large fingers do not hit the wrong buttons. The keypad is large and so are the numbers on the screen.
I would recommend this phone. -
