"Rugged... Phffft!!! Shiny Junk!" on by GarthKlaus

Pros: Looks good, Easy to use.

Cons: Limited lifespan <90 days. No support from Nextel or Motorola. NO WARRANTY!!!

Summary: I bought this phone to replace my beloved i305 that has been through 5 hurricanes, 3 tropical storms, countless drops and even my kitchen wall.
The i335 looks good and worked pretty well, for a few months. I received in in March 08 and by July... it was done. I took it to a Nextel store and was told it was 'water damaged' and would need to go through Motorola. I called Motorola who asked me to send it to them. They returned it unrepaired and referred me to Nextel. No one will take responsibility for the warranty and each tries to send me to the other.
As for the 'water damage'. This phone lead a sheltered life when compared to the Hell I put my i305 through. It was never dropped, used in the rain, or tossed through a wall.
Bottom Line: It does not live up to it's 'Rugged' tag and no one will stand behind it.

    "Great Phone!" on by groove111

Pros: No frills, great audio, service, DESIGN!

    Cons: no frills.

Summary: I got this phone for my mother, she doesn't care about internet or texting she just wants a phone that is easy to use and works good. here is what she had to say: Big buttons are easy to see volume gets loud. Great audio quality, excellent service, it even works in the basement, good battery life.

I am happy that I found a phone she enjoys to use. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants a no frills phone that works great.

"Welcome addition to the rugged phone line!" on by barney_cuf

Pros: Small, light, familiar layout, rugged, buttons easy to use.

Cons: None to speak of at this time.

Summary: This phone is a welcome modernization for the rugged line of Nextel phones. I've been a Nextel loyalist for 8 years or so with few problems with the phones or service that were not quickly remedied. This model is much lighter than any of my other phones and retains all the features I rely on. The i335 feels good in the hand and the call quality is excellent. I've waited a couple of years for a new phone and this one was worth the wait!

"Nice hardware, AWFUL software." on by travistansbury

    Pros: Physical Look and Feel.

Cons: Navigating the morass of menus and sub-menus. It's like using a PC. Nothing is intuitive and some stuff we all take for granted can't even be done.

Summary: I've been using Sanyos for years and boy do I miss them. Had to get a motorola for work and this was the newest one. I hate it. Its operating system is sloppy and unstable. It frequently freezes or reboots in the middle of work. It has no calculator. Recent calls are often recorded with no time, date or duration. There are dozens of other trivial quirks that, by themselves, are only minor irritations but when taken together leave me, and many other users I'm sure, with a powerful urge to chuck the damn thing out the car window.

"Sturdy, simple phone. Does what it's meant to do." on by mkdemuth

    Pros: - Exceptional call quality
    - Durable
    - Amazing Keypad

Cons: - Plastic lining over keys wears off
    - Simple programs, nothing fancy
    - No real alarm clock (only reminders through calendar)
    - Confusing options for ringtones/silent or vibrate modes

Summary: Ultimately, this phone has very limited features, but it does them well. Call quality has never been a problem for me. The volume has a great range. The phone is really durable, even though the thin plastic lining over the 1-9 keys has started to wear off, you don't feel that at all. The keys themselves are great for dialing, texting, etc. The only thing to be aware of is that it's a really simple phone, no crazy apps for this one. My only complaint with that is that, for example, there is no alarm clock, only reminders through the calendar, which is sort of weird to work, and I've had some problems trying to get ringers to go off for that. The ringers in general are a bit strange to set up, but other than that, the phone works perfectly. Highly recommended for a simple, easy phone.
