The Bottom Line The Motorola i576 is a sturdy and functional Nextel phone. It's not glamorous, but it works. The Motorola Brute i686 can take a longer dunk in water, but is otherwise identical to the Brute i680. It's not the prettiest phone on the block, but it's incredibly durable with great call quality to boot. The Kyocera DuraMax is a basic but durable handset that offers Direct Connect services over Sprint's faster CDMA network, but a couple of issues will prevent some iDEN customers from making the switch for now. If you're looking for a reliable, easy-to-use handset that's built like a tank, the Motorola i365 fits the bill. The Motorola i580 isn't pretty, but it packs an excellent feature set and decent call quality in a durable design.
