"Best phone ever! Provides excellent service and quality! A sleek style with an executive design."
Pros: Where clarity and reception were once a major problem with many of Nextel's new 3-digit handsets, this has been eliminated.
Cons: The battery life is minimal - if you use your phone alot, you'd better buy an extra battery.
Summary: If the Push-To-Talk feature is important (or even impossible to do without), and yet you long for the proffessional, "I'm not in constuction" look, well look no more.
Not only does the i836 look great, but it fits your hand like a glove - as if it belongs there.
And if reception, clarity, and coverage were once a problem, then look no more. This unit has overcome many of the obsticles that stopped the previous newer 3-digit models from performing like the competition.
The Direct Connect and speaker phone features are clear for the other party as well as for you. You sound as if you're actually on the telephone!
The screen is still fairly small and the external display only has one color - Amber. There are still alot of Java apps, games, and buissness apps, as well as the usual downloadable ringtones, wallpapers, and screensavers, but beware. It comes with a slim battery - 120 minutes talktime (or 2 hours). If you use your phone for buissness or just plain talk alot, you will definitely need to keep a spare battery and/or chargers. A standard capacity battery is available with 200 minutes talk time, or 1.5 hours longer than the slim battery.
Overall, this unit sets the bar for a new generation of handsets.
Once again, Motorola proves that you can have your cake and eat it too! Thanks Motorola!
