"Nextel came thru in the clutch!" on by avardan
Pros: Picture quality, excellent reception and quality phone
Cons: Not bluetooth ready, does not play mp3's
Summary: This phone hands down it the best Nextel phone ever released. The only thing it is missing is an mp3 player and I would have gave it an automatic rating of 10. Great reception and connectivity, feels like you're talking from a home phone. The phone flips open and closes very smoothly and has a great feel to it. The on screen picture and graphic quality is much better compared to the i730. I love the style of the buttons on the phone and the blue lighting down in the middle and on the arrows. Just an all-around solid phone.

"Best Nextel phone yet!! WiDEN!!!!!!!!" on by xmanjoe0
Pros: Clear voice quality, good battery life, stylish, great 18 bit color display, really loud speaker phone, WiDEN data ready, good camera, not bulky.
Cons: Nothing, I have not found anything wrong with this phone!
Summary: Nextel is getting better and better with the phones they offer. They used to offer nothing but bulky (But durable) phones for the construction worker and business users, but some of their new phones are meant for use day to day users. I love the fact that the i850 is set up for WiDEN!!! The speeds in my area are really fast and tethering is so much faster now.
The i850 is comparable in design to any Sanyo, Samsung, or even Moto GSM and CDMA phones. I get much better range and sound with Nextel then I did with US Cellular, Cingular, and Verizon phone.
In all I am so happy Nextel is getting stylish and powerful phones like this. Because there is more and more of use common users using Nextel then before. So it is nice to see we have a place with them.Updated
I wrote a review a while back for a Verizon phone. I did it because I (thought) Verizon was a good carrier. But this was because I had never tried Nextel before. So I did not know any better.
After using the new phone for a few days I ended my two year contract with them. After spending a year and a half with them.
I am now with Nextel and a million times happier. I am sorry to all of the loyal Nextel users. I did not know any better. I wish CNet would delete the Verizon review.
If anyone is thinking about going with Verizon, honestly reconsider. If you are with Nextel right now, then just stay with the better carrier.Updated

"Great phone" on by GM1211
Pros: Great reception nice size phone buttons loud and clear speaker
Cons: no bluetooth
Summary: This is a great phone! I would recomend it to anyone that has Nextel service. The calls are loud and clear, they sound like you are on a landline. I get better reception than with other nextel phones that I have had. Gets better reception in buildings. It has a very clear screen also. The camera is up to par with most of the other camera phones.

"Not as heavy as a brick ! How dumb to say !" on by eeee
Pros: Voice Quality, Cust Service, 2 way radio
Cons: What cons, all others wireless providers have cons
Summary: This phone IS NOT as heavy as a brick. Another biased review from CNET against Nextel; it has been evident for years, I wonder WHY?
This phone is another in a very smart, excellent performing Motorola phone that utilizes the Nextel network to produce very clear phone calls, excellent signal service, and the very productive Direct Connect (2 way radio) that all Nextel owners love.
BY THE WAY: all conversations on the 2 way radio become totally private if the user simply presses the button to turn off the loudspeaker: the user then holds the phone to their ear while using the 2way radio: Please ask any rude Nextel user to do that if they have the speaker blasting !
That is how I use mine when in the office: common courtesy.
As far as price; in a few months it will be 1/2 to 2/3 cheaper like all phones.
