"Mororola i870." on by Scabba Ranker

Pros: Awesome quality, great mp3 player, fantastic camera, great repeption, amazing speakerphone.

Cons: Pretty pricey, comes standard with 32Mc trans flash card and it should come with atleast a 128Mb.

    Summary: This phone is great.

I was a little concerned at first though. Kind of giving it my doubts, but then again, who wouldn't after spending $380 on a phone??

I have had it for almost a week. I love it to death. Its awesome.

The picture quality is FAR superior to the i860. The i870 is 1.3mpxl, and the i860 is .3mgpxl. Thats a whole megapixel larger, it makes a huge difference.

The screen is brighter than the i860, but it does not run as "smooth" as the i860 when it is in camera/video mode. Seems to run chopier, but that might be because since it takes better pictures in lower light conditions compared to the i860, it mar be trying to "work harder". That, and I do have the picture resolution set at the largest setting (1280x1024). (Largest size on the i860 is 640x480).

The i870 takes 30 seconds of video when it is using the phones memory. It can take more if you select to store your media to the memory card. How much video it takes when it is set to store media on the memory card depends on how large the memory card is that it in the phone.

I also like the mirror on the outside of the phone, so you can take pictures of yourself. I like how it is different from the ouside display showing the pic like every other phone.

Before I get to the mp3 player, I have to say that the speakerphone is awesome, MUCH better than the i860 (and the 860 was the best speakerphone I'd ever heard).

The mp3 player is pretty cool. I like how it has a lot of basic mp3 player program options on it, like album list, genre list, favorites playlist, and so on.....

The songs sound relativley good on the speakerphone, definatley better than I had expected.

It comes with a 32Mb trans flash card, which I have to say is pretty worthless for storing mp3s. It fits about 6-8 mp3s. I am going to get a 512Mb card next week.

You cannot just hookup any pair of headphones to the phone. The headphone port is a special size made for the i870 and the i930 by Nextel, so you have to buy headsets from Nextel......imagine that.

The construction of the phone is really good as well, feels very strong and sturdy. The flip open hinge feels much tighter, and not as "flimsy" feeling as it does on the i860.

Although I have the USB Data Cable, the Media Downloader software that is used for the i860 to load your pictures on your computer, does not work with the i870. In order for me to move pictures to my computer, I have to move each picture/video to the memory card, which can only be done 1 at atime, and it takes a long time. It is a pain in the neck. I hope nextel is going to come out with a driver for the i870 so it can work with the Media Downloader, or come up with some new Media Downloader software that recognizes the i870.

As far as using the phone, it is very simple to use. It is no different from the i860. It has the same software.

Overall I give this phone a 9.5 out of 10. I love it. Its a fun great phone. If you have the means, and have Nextel (or if you don't), I highly reccomend purchasing it. It is by far the best phone out there, in my humble opinion.

I hope this was informative and answered many of the questions that you may have had.

    BUY THIS PHONE!!! :)

I have been waiting for a Nextel Bluetooth enabled phone and I think this is it. You don't mention Bluetooth in your email. Did you use it at all?
