Bottom line
The Motorola Quantico is a rugged midrange phone that doesn't offer too many surprises, but it makes it up in reliability.
The Motorola Brute i686 can take a longer dunk in water, but is otherwise identical to the Brute i680. It's not the prettiest phone on the block, but it's incredibly durable with great call quality to boot.
U.S. Cellular's Kyocera DuraPro has both the brawn and the reliable call performance that make it a good choice for users looking for a rugged feature phone.
Very poor call quality is especially unacceptable on a simple cell phone. Unless you require AT&T's push-to-talk service, keep looking.
Though its design and feature set are from another decade, the Samsung Chrono 2 succeeds at what a phone should do.
