  • "I tried to return it."
    on by evbutler

Pros Neat, compact design. Works great. if I could keep it charged.

Cons Won't stay charged, short battery life. Unable to find a holster for it.

Summary I tried to return this phone but they wouldn't take it back. The cell company kept replacing batteries until the 30 days to return it expired. This is not typical Motorola. The Razr 3 that it replaced is the best phone I've ever had. I will be storing the Quantico and going back to the Razr 3. The "idle" battery time on this phone is 24 hours at most. When plugged in, the battery indicator is red. The claim of five hours talk time is fictitious in my phone.

  • "Motorola should be bankrupted for this travesty"
    on by ZyanceBoy

Pros Nice keyboard feel. Good flip quality. Good ergonomics. Nice weight. Rugged materials.

Cons THIS IS NOT A WATERPROOF PHONE DESPITE MOTOROLA'S CLAIM! Firmware is crap! Bluetooth does not work properly. Unit sometimes locks up requiring power cycle. Setup options are poor.

    Summary WATERPROOF LIE:
I exposed this to water (less than 2 feet for less than a second at a time). The phone got water droplets inside the screen and battery compartment. It stopped working. Thankfully, the warranty was honored and I got a new one. I will not let this one get wet.
    FIRMWARE DEBACLE:
I can't fathom how Motorola allowed this crappy, bug-ridden, immature, firmware to get to market. It's almost as if a completely inexperienced team worked on the firmware for this product. Not only does it lock up more than Windows ME, but the UI smacks of ignorant designers. There are many features that you expect to be mature, but are not; such as being able to set vibrate and ring easily. Also, the text entry does not allow a zero to be entered easily when using dictionary mode. Bluetooth is the worst though. I have tried two different Bluetooth ear pieces from Plantronics and Motorola. I have experienced the same problems with both units so I know it's the phone. The Bluetooth will drop after about 20 minutes despite the fact that the headsets are within 2 feet of the phone. This has occured both in stand-by as well as in the middle of a call. And when this happens, the phone shows the Bluetooth is still connected, but you can't hear them and they can't hear you. It takes a few minutes for the phone to fully disconnect from the Bluetooth to become usable again. Sometimes a power cycle is required to get Bluetooth working again. Other times the unit locks up for no apparent reason and requires a power cycle. These are only some of the problems I have experienced, and because I have had 2 of these units, I can tell you that BOTH units exhibited the same problems. Very disappointing. Avoid this product.

  • "Durable Water Resistant Quality phone"
    on by DMAX07

Pros Durable cover, Nice flip action, Good reception, plays mp3, ok web browser, Great for work and being outside in the elements, Nice set of buttons layout for easy dialing. Sound Quality is great.

Cons Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the caller ID to show up in the external screen. Not tetherning with Metro PCS,

Summary The phone is a great solid work phone. Its durable, shoock resistant, and water proof. I would recommend this phone for someone who just needs the basics of calling and receiving calls and who drops the phone a lot because it wont break as easily as a new touchsceen phone will.

  • "Rugged construction and a enough features for me."
    on by apistomaster

Pros I like it's rugged, water resistant contruction. Many niceties such as a back lighted key pad, 8 GB MicroSD card which can store a lot of MP3 music files and it functions as a basic calculator, voice recorder, to do lists and WHY.

Cons A little more bulky than my old Motorola Razr V3C but not as much as I thought based on the photos I saw prior to seeing the phone. It has a nice positive feel due to it's rubberized exterior. I lost some due to exterior protective shell.

Summary I am still new to the phone but i am finding it has many features I am not used to but am looking forward to having. This is a good phone for outdoors sportsters and for those who work in construction site environments.

  • "Dummied down too far. ringer problems. poor calendar."
    on by NanaNel

Pros Liked the water resistance factor & tough skin.
Has a weight that is comfortable to use and easy to know it's in your pocket.
Easy to look up a contact.
    Clear sound.
top left activation of speaker phone but echo.
    That's where the pros end!!!!

Cons Calendar extremely limitated& very labor intensive.
30days=it already shows wear on function keys
Failed alarms False voicemail alerts Missed calls
Only 3 alarms at one time.
Can't find software to download contact to my computer from this phone.

Summary Bottom line: Strickly a simple tough phone for a senior. If you use an alarm or calandar at all, don't even consider this phone...give me back my Razor PLEASE!!! Unfortunately, alltell doesn't offer it any more. I WOULD SWAP THIS PHONE OUT IN A MINUTE! A simple phone that has made my life more complicated.

Calander reoccurance can't repeat event the same day each month. Won't copy event to another day. very labor intensive. limited choices for when to alert you. Must make separate entries if less than 5 day repeat, no MWF ability.

Buttons will be worn out before my contracts up (and I don't even text!) Unreliable alarms.

    False voicemail alerts.

Phone doesn't dismiss or snooze alerts or alarms that are not responded to so, if you leave your phone at home, count on a dead battery when you return.

Volume set on side of phone changes with pressure in your pocket. the thickness of this phone has caused it not to fit comfortably where my Razor had.

Says it takes the eliments but has normal temperature restrictions in the instructions.

Can't get contacts folder to hold more than 10 names.

    Run DO NOT BUY!
