"Side by Side Comparison to Sync - Motorola Wins"
Pros: Call Volume, Signal, External Buttons Don't Get in Way
Cons: Camera Could Be Better, Call Log Not Complete
Summary: I didn't do a full comparison since I only had both phones for a day and there are many features I don't care as much about. After all, the main function of a phone is to call people!!
This phone's call volume is much louder than the Sync. Also, you only need to push one button to get to Speakerphone during a call (I believe Sync required more than one button push which takes you away from your call longer than it should).
All of my old phones and the Sync could not get a signal inside an ice skating building. This phone could get a signal in most areas of the building.
I also use the phone as a watch. By pushing an external button, this phone's external display comes up with the time immediately. For the Sync, you had to push the button down for 3 seconds before the time came up. In that amount of time, you can open and shut the phone to see the time. What use is the Sync's external display in that case???
I find opening and closing this phone to be easier than the Sync. Also, the external buttons on this phone are located on the flip part rather than the non-flip part. I open the phone with my left hand and with the Sync I would frequently hit the external buttons, but not with this phone. Although hitting the external buttons really didn't screw anything up with the Sync, it was still slightly annoying to me.
One thing I liked about the Sync over this phone is the Sync's complete call log. If someone calls you multiple times, you can see the times of their last 30 calls. With this phone, if the person called 30 times in a row, it will only show the most recent call time. I also liked the Sync's individual number buttons.
Finally, the Sync's camera took a clearer picture, but the Sync's zoom hardly zooms compared to this phone. Taking an "unzoomed" (1X) picture on the Sync, the subject was so far away, you had to maximize the zoom just to get it to Motorola's "unzoomed" (1X) picture. Motorola then has 2X, 4X and 8X zoom. Of course, since Motorola's pictures aren't as clear, the zooming makes it even more pixalated.
But since I care mostly about the phone performance of my phone, how it performs as a camera is not a big deal to me as long as it can take a half decent pic which it does. I also didn't do any testing on the music or any other parts of this phone yet. I'm sure I will eventually, but as far as actual phone performance, this phone is far superior to the Sync.
One last thing, I think the chrome accents on this phone looks better than the plain black Sync (or the plain black version of this phone), but this phone does seem to show fingerprints more easily.Updated
Note, I had both phones together at the same time for a day because I originally got the Sync for myself, then got this phone for my daughter while I was still in my 30 day return period, so I kept both phones for a day to do the side by side comparison, then I gave my daughter her phone and exchanged my Sync for this phone.
