The Bottom Line It's not a video handset, but the Motorola V950 is a great rugged cell phone for making calls. The Sanyo Taho gets big points for its rugged and simple design. Voice quality had a few issues, but it should be agreeable for most people. The Sanyo Pro-700 is a good push-to-talk phone with a ruggedized exterior. The Kyocera DuraMax is a basic but durable handset that offers Direct Connect services over Sprint's faster CDMA network, but a couple of issues will prevent some iDEN customers from making the switch for now. The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx proves that a powerful Android superphone can remain thin yet still promise marathon-worthy battery life. If you can live without Ice Cream Sandwich and have big hands, the Maxx is extremely compelling.
