Summary: I see the first review is a complaint about the phone not having a Camera. HELLO People! That's the whole point. The L6 is the same phone with a camera. Motorola and Cingular are just offering an alternative and a smart one in my opinion. So many forums are filled with people in the business world who need a phone without a camera(Federal Bldg's, etc...)
Check out gsmarena and look at the Nokia E60. A ton of people want this phone because it has no camera. Motorola beat Nokia to the punch in this case. I love Nokia phones but I can't wait forever for the E60 to come out, considering it was announced last October.
This was a brilliant release by Moto and it was very smart of Cingular to pick this phone up. -

Summary: In contrast to the CNET review, the volume CAN be run up AND DOWN. First push the volume button on the side, then use the mulit-direction button to adjust the volume up and down instead of having to run it all the way up to get back around to the lowest setting. Other than that, I haven't had the phone long enough to say much about its performance.

Summary: I have had this phone for about a week. I live out in a marginal coverage area, and am able to make calls from anywhere in the house, or on my property, unlike my previous phone where I was limited to the driveway, beside the road, with the same provider. I love the screen. I like the slim design, and I like that it feels like you have something other than a piece of plastic in your hands. Some people may not like that it doesn't have a camera, but I have work regulations that state I cannot have a camera phone at work. I can say that I would recommend this phone to anyone. I will review it again in a few weeks.

Summary: Underrated candy bar,Bluetooth, speaker combo-there's hardly any phone that offers these without a camera.
No camera saves space (this phone is millimeters thick) and battery life.
The screen is gourgeous, it's easy to read (I use it for my pages at a local hospital).
For such a small phone, it's been tough enough to survive numerous drops from my clumsy hands.
Everytime I pull this phone out, I get the "wow " reaction, why Motorola doesn't advertise this phone more is beyond me.Updated
Want a candy bar design with Bluetooth, speaker, and no bulky, battery chewing camera? Then you don't have many choices other than the Slvr L2.
I've used this phone heavily for 6 months. It's been exactly what I want: a reliable, nearly credit card thin phone (only).
I've dropped it numerous times, but the screen is scratch free. Other than a few minimal plastic dents, the body looks like new. I've had to perform a "batter removal" reset twice (both times exiting Google maps).It's so small, it's easy to forget which pocket you put it in.
Voice quality is good, not great. Volume might be an issue for some. The speaker can be "tinny", but I can use it in my car with the engine running without difficulty. Reception hasn't been an issue.
Bluetooth works flawlessly, and I can transfer calendar entries and pictures without difficulty. Web browsing is slow on ATT network. The L2 works with Google maps. Battery life is about 4-5 days, if the phone is mainly making calls.
Overall, I've been satisfied with performance, and surprised by the reliability/durability. It's not easy to find a phone with such a practical feature set.

Still have the SLVR L2. Still works well, thought the battery life has fallen to 36-48 hours (on second battery).
At this point, I've dropped this phone dozens of times, and it works like the day I bought it. -

Pros: sleek look, ease of use
Cons: no infrared
Summary: This is a great looking, well designed, simple phone...the volume on the calls and ringer is perfect. the screen is crisp and legible. bottom line: a nice looking phone that's quite functional.
