"Slvr L7 lacks basic needs but looks stylish"2.0 starson by newmaze
Pros: crisp and dynamic Mp3 puny mono speaker phone
Cons: very poor navigation and handling
Summary: Don’t make a mistake by buying this phone by how it looks. Yeah, it looks slick, compact…BUT!!! At 1st I thought that fairly solid metal and “cool keypad” + the 100 mp3s storage + the sharp screen was gonna be enough. Nowhere near. Because the keypad is so flat and flush, it’s many times difficult to press on buttons with accuracy (ex: once my thumb would hit somewhere in between, and an “upright bishop” all of a sudden – nothin’ – wrong button) The button location is not the best either.
The player can only be synchronized with Apple’s player - but I prefer windows player – BUMMER. It also lacks useful functions that would be more daily necessities just like for business people and also for common or like teenage people. Irrefutably this cellphone was designed to target the “teenage group” based on the interface, features and the operating system. The letters are too scrunched up, so it’s not that pleasant to read.
If you need to look up time – plan on carrying a watch with your phone. What concerns the navigation – it was not very intuitive and the main feature pathetically is the “cingular mall” – it’s even in the middle of main menu. As I realized, in the contact list only one phone number can be stored PER A SINGLE LISTING OF A CONTACT ON THE SCREEN (for example, the name Sam would be shown twice in the list – one for a cellphone contact and the other for home, or for other) The data transfer via USB was also kinda slow. Not all of my assigned to transfer MP3s were actually transferred. Not protected yet from outside impact the screen (tho, not very scratch-vulnerable), that’s why I prefer a flip-phone. And I exchanged mine on a more efficient and cheaper one (on a flip-phone)
Alright, advantages: In all fairness it’s not a horrible phone. Very clear speaker phone even tho it’s mono). 192 kb/s Mp3s were quite crisp and loud for such a puny speaker. Again, metal is a plus, yet I don’t think it’s unscratchable yet. The screen was bright enough and sharp. Especially also the battery life was surprisingly long.
The slim gadget was still smelling like new even after about a month. Mp3s can be used as ringtones – AWESOME. Fairly light&compact in a pocket. The keypad could be easily cleaned and kept clean because of its flushness. Overall, I would not suggest that you would buy this phone, because there are better options that would give you more essential stuff for even a lower price.
