    "GREAT PHONE"

    by dsm51182 on January 23, 2006

Pros: thin design, removable memory, nice screen, loud speakerphone, quad band

Cons: Low resolution camera, earpeice is alittle low but not bad

Summary: I cannot believe how many bad reviews this phone has gotten already, I give it a 9 but made it a 10 because it does not deserve the rating it has right now. I just recieved mine a week ago which i purchased from www.saberpoint.com and I LOVE IT!! I had the RAZR first then I went to the L6 but had to upgrade to the L7 once it came out. Screen is great, eye catching design. feels very comfortable in hand, removable memory, quad band for worldwide use, and great MP3 player! This phone is well worth it!

If you try any of the walkman phones from SONY Ericsson, trust me you won't lave a 10 for the phone.

Look, I would agree that it is strange that a US company would not make a phone for CDMA users as well. Going back to the AMPS days, a single phone worked on either of the 2 networks in any MTA (??). That said, the SLVR is a sleek pphone with some features that were added and some that were left out. Added iTunes (100 song limit). Nice to have in a phone, but not necessary. GPRS, but not EDGE? I was expected EDGE, does class 10 gprs = EDGE? Don't know. Like the removable transflash slot and slim design of the phone.

For those complaining about this being a rehash of the razr, you are partially correct. However, when you have a hot product, can make minor or medium modification, and make money off of it, why not do it?

I don't use dat a great deal, however since this phone was first rumored last summer and since it builds upon the Razr platform (1 year old), for the life of me I can't figure out why this phone does't have EDGE when CHEAPER phones have it and UMTS is 6-10 month away from a mass launch!!

    Example:

Car companies rehash the same car and label it 3 different ways to market to target customers. The Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Caddilac Escalade are all the same "basic" vehicle. Each "model" adds a little something that that demographic want in a vehicle.

Overall, I give the phone a 7 for looks, style and initial call quality.
