"It's just OK" on by IUgrad505
Pros: Stylish, large bright screen, great sound quality, nice backlighting (when it's actually on)
Cons: Horrible battery life, battery gets hot, fingerprints, backlight off when talking
Summary: I've had this phone for about a week and I loved it when I got it, BUT I think it's going back. It's great looking, fits in my pocket very easily (or you can buy a case if you want one), and sounds great if you download a ringtone. The screen is big and bright, call quality is no better or worse than other phones depending on where you are...but that's about it. For more on the cons of the screen and the battery, keep reading.
THE BATTERY:
Like any phone, the battery heats up, but you can feel it more because the phone is so thin. The battery also has terrible battery life...I was told it had 240 minutes of talk time (4 hours) and up to 410 hours of standby time. Seems like a lot, but still less than other phones....but NOT what I was told. My phone was fully charged and I left it on overnight, as I always do. When I got up in the morning it was down to 2 bars, and when I left for work an hour or so later it was down to 1. I'm thinking about taking the phone back because of this.
THE SCREEN:
If you want a clean phone, don't get this one. Once you get fingerprints on the screen, it's really difficult to clean it. Unlike other phones, it doesn't come with a plastic film over the screen when you first get it, so it got dirty immediately.
The backlight is what's most annoying. I have it set to 15 seconds so it doesn't totally kill the battery, the phone would be useless if it was always on. The problem with this is that it shuts off in the middle of the call, so I thought I lost the call and you have to press a button to bring it back on and see that you're still talking. If you're in conversation and the backlight goes off you may not notice, but if there is a slight pause and you look to see if you're still in a call, you wouldn't know. I personally just found this annoying, you may not. The screensaver goes on seemingly every 30 seconds as well, which is extremely annoying, making you press a button to get out of it...and if you press the middle button, you'll get to your menu and probably do something you don't want to by accident.
Those are really my only complaints about this phone, I liked this phone since it first came out but was only eligible to get one a few weeks ago. I thought I'd do much better with it, but I can't take having to charge it 3 times a day to make it work, which is what I think I'd have to do - and I don't even talk that much! It's a cool looking phone, they're correct when they say get it if looks are all you care about..but really, ONLY if looks are all you care about. -
"The worst phone" on by aminmom
Pros: Just sleek design
Cons: A bad card reader, the bettery life is really poor
Summary: The phone just has a nice sleek design but the battery is terrible. The fully charged battery gets discharged even without making a call. The card reader just malfunction and doesn't work. I had to visit the verizon store 5 times in the last month. Finally I just got another model handset

"Plenty of features but prone to failure" on by suprasteve
Pros: decent video/camera, sleek design, nice features
Cons: slow interface, must always remember to lock keys when not in use, prone to major malfunctions!
Summary: When this phone came out for cingular I loved it but could not get one because it was not available for verizon. Some time later (early 07 or so) I finally got my chance to own one! However one week later i had to return it to the store because it was freezing up and malfunctioning. So they gave me a second one, it worked fine for 6 months and now I have the same problem but its gotten so bad the phone wont even turn on. Keep in mind this was always in a case, never droped, never seen water. So im on my 3rd one in 6 months but i have given up on this one and am only using it temperarily while i wait to get something new.

"I don't agree with the editors, in some areas." on by djmaynyrd
Pros: Nice stylish phone, and seems sturdy enough.
Cons: My service, or the phone, make voices sound muffled
Summary: I just purchased this phone, and I may take it back. It's too bad, because I really like everything about it except the fact that it
seems to provide a muffled voice from callers, (it sounds like they have cotton balls in their mouth). I was hoping Cnet could tell me if it was the phone, maybe a defect in my particular phone, or the service. I just signed up with Cricket, and they are new to my area...(of course their customer service doesn't deny or confirm any
technical issues). If this problem is either
corrected or resolved, BUY THIS PHONE. For $149.00, it's a steal. -
"Nice but hobbled." on by tchmil
Pros: Sleek, decent audio quality
Cons: Bluetooth data transfer is gimped
Summary: Just got off the phone with Verizon's tech support. Found out that Bluetooth data transfer is "unsupported" which means "you can transfer images but not audio and don't come crying to us about it, just download your $2 ringtones and be happy."
It seems a nice phone otherwise.
