"If all you want is a beautiful phone........"
Pros: Outstanding form factor
Cons: Form without function
Summary: If you're after nothing more than a sexy, attention getting, easy to carry phone, this is it!
If however you want to use it for email, PIM or accessing the internet....FORGET IT!
Two weeks ago I was seduced by the Razr V3?s drop-dead gorgeous looks and size and replaced my Treo 600 with the V3. Today I returned the Razr and reactivated the Treo. Thank goodness for the Cingular 30 day satisfaction warranty.
The Razr?s screen is impossible to read on a bright day, contacts management is horrible, the phone can only receive selective emails (ignores the rest) and the browser can only access basic text sites. If that's acceptable to you on a $400 ?smart? phone, this one will stroke your ego like no other.
As for me, after a brief estrangement, the Treo and I are back together again.

ok you dont know what your talking about The Razr is a awsome phone that never drops call and i get really good bars and allwas works i get every e-mail and text. How long did you say you used this?two week?that isnt a long time.I had the phone from my dad and it is STILL perfect(only a couple of marks)I has held up from my dropping it again and again.Ur phone must have been defective because mine works perfectly and it was bought when they first came out.By friend also has the razr but her's is sliver and she say"i love my phone to death. It was like it was made for me" We both have never dropped any calls (by the phone fault). You caerly have no idea what your talking about.

Unfortunately I have to agree with a few others on your assessment, however I won't do it in such a verbally abusing manner. The Treo and the RAZR have two totally different functionalities. Unfortunately many people confuse the "Very basic" e-mail functionalities of many cell phones today with the more expanded "mini mobile office" solutions found on Blackberry's and windows mobile devices. For people who just want to see what is in their e-mail, check a few things and that is it, the RAZR or any one of the many other flip phones with e-mail are fine. However, if you are a true mobile nut and want comprehensive e-mail on your phone, you have to use a blackberry or windows mobile device. Just that simple. Don't confuse the form and function of the phone with an idealistic view of what it should do.
By the way, I have used the blackberry, treo 700w, 600 and other pocket PC phones and have gone back to a regular cell phone with e-mail capabilities. Just depends on your needs. -
I'm astounded that you wouldn't have relized that this was NOT a Qwerty phone when you picked it up! What were you thinking? Didn't you notice that it didn't have the keyboard of a Treo? If you were looking for a change, why didn't you pick a Blackberry?

Know one has address the issue that arose from the old silver V3 model phone. I'd like to know if the volume on this phone has improved for the new model. That was and issue.

You obviously are NOT the desired audience Motorola wanted to buy the RAZR, because you dont get why they made it. It wasnt made for a road warrior CEO to check his email, why do you think theres a BlackBerry or a Treo with QWERTY keyboards. This is a fashionable phone, with high end features. There are a few niggles that will bother some, but the fact that this is a sexy slim phone, and gets everyones attention (I have never whipped it out and NOT had 3 people ask to look at it) its great for a person seeking attention, NOT wanting the latest email from mom or the wife. Next time you trash a good phone, make sure you get what the target audience is, and why they're the targets.....

Comparing the Razr V3's advanced features (email etc) with those of Treo is a bit like complaining that your BMW M3 won't haul 4x8 plywood sheets as well as your F250 pickup.
Whoever told you the V3 is a 'Smartphone' was obviously trying to 'sell' you on the phone.
I use one as an adjunct to my PocketPC phone. -
I thought the guys at motorola had uped the ante witht the even better black V3. But they could have done a lot better with the software looking like one out of atari`s games. Totally agree with the earlier opinion on using internet and the LCD in sunlight.
My sony Ericsson K700i was soo much better..
