"Finally, a Nextel phone that is truly cool" on by lovedatPTT
Pros: Size, features, multimedia, touch screen, call quality
Cons: Reception, weight, no holster
Summary: Nextel has finally got a phone that I am not embarassed to whip out. It has all the advanced features found on everyone else's phone, it doesn't look like I found it on the floorboard of a tractor, and it gives me great pictures and videos, and plays my music just great from the external touch-screen. It is a little heavier than most other Nextel phones, battery life does not seem to be an issue, but I am disappointed that it doesn't come with a belt clip holster like every other Nextel phone has since it began. Nor, for that matter, I am told that Motorola is not even making one. Don't they know that if you carry a Nextel, it is because you want instant access to your customers and coworkers. And having to dig around in your purse or pocket for the phone kind of defeats the purpose. And without the stubby antenna, the reception in very outlying areas seems a little more sketchy. But that aside, I heartily recommend this device.

"Expensive Phone with well bellow average features" on by Chris-Gonzales
Pros: A large Bright crisp LCD Display with a sleek modern look are pretty much the only good things about this phone.
Cons: Horrible Battery life. Even if you upgrade to the BX80 extended battery (for $50 extra) it requires a new door not included with the extended battery. (around $7-11 bucks) Menu system is slow and at times unresponsive. Call quality not the best.

"Calls drop constantly! Loses signal/unreliable!" on by msgizroc
Pros: Cooler graphix then ic602 phone. Less bulky. Better ring tones included also.
Cons: Constantly drops calls even when sitting still. While sitting next to an i355 phone with full bars, i9 has red or no bars. Master reset didn't work while tech help worked on phone either.
Summary: This is my second i9 phone since changing from ic602 (which was becoming a problem with service) in April 2009. Tech help can't resolve problem and they say there is no other reported problems known to them. (I guess my previously called in problems didn't matter.) Also, if you store pictures to the phone instead of a microSD (which isn't included) I couldn't figure out how to email stored picture after you intially took the picture. That is the only time I saw a send button was when I took the picture. I also could not figure out how to move pictures stored in phone over to microSD card once I installed the card.

"Nice and Thin, Battery Life is horrible." on by OrlandoSalesman
Pros: Very thin, slips into packet very nice, it is like a large Razr.
Cons: I took this phone off the charger in the morning, did nit make 1 phone call and at 9:30 it died. No holster or micro SD card, for $200 how about some accessories! I am here looking for a different phone now.
Summary: Nice phone if you do not make a lot of phone calls and want something sleek and sharp. Also for the phone having MP3 abilities I am surprised that I can not make a MP3 my ring tone.

"Awful phone" on by auge8024
Pros: Slim design. Looks nice. Loud receiver speaker (when you can get a decent signal
Cons: everything!
Summary: Don't get this phone. Terrible reception (Nextel network). Prone to severe attenuation (think iPhone deathgrip, but anywhere you touch it does the same thing). Drops calls ALL THE TIME. Takes a full 30 seconds to download a text message (For reference, a SMS is 1.1 kb, it should NOT take that long). Takes about 15 seconds to send a text. Media takes too long to load (images, music). Music player is as not intuitive or easy to use. I bought a 16 gig card to use this as an MP3 player, but never use it because it's so difficult to deal with.
After about 6 months of use, the PTT button begins to crap out, such that it becomes almost unusable.
The only reason I have this phone is because my company requires us to use a phone with PTT. At least they pay the bills... Everyone at work has this phone and hates it. Many people, myself included, have had to return at least one of them to get a replacement for a wide assortment of catastrophic failures. My first i9 would turn off every time I opened it. Imagine my frustration when I open the phone to answer a call only to find that the phone turned off.
Also, the battery life is dismal. I have never seen battery life so bad.
