"I rate this phone a 10"
Pros: talk time ease of use and weight
Cons: none it is a perfect basic cell phone
Summary: I was looking for a good basic cell phone and boy did I find it in the v180.Updated
After reading some of the reviews I wonder why anybody would buy a basic cell phone and then complain about the lack of features. KEY WORD BASICUpdated
The v188 is the updated version of the v180 and fixes all the problems of the v180.

So, the V188 fixes all the problems that the V180 has. Good to hear that. Thank you for letting me know.

Like the biggest problem...the v188 is only available through T-Mobile. Meaning, all of us with the problems discussed (ie, the fact that, even though it's flimsy as a $160, you can't stay on the phone for more than 5 minutes without it dropping the call, and that you can't hear the stupid ringer because someone in the design process forgot to forward on the memo about the speaker being on the back of the phone, and the caller id being on the front would probably mean that the volume needed to be a little louder to be audible) are only fixed for those customers. Those of us whom Cingular screwed by not telling us any of the manufacturer's admitted problems don't get an updated phone that works. This phone is a piece of crap. Not because it's basic, that's what I wanted, was a basic phone. It's a piece of crap because the only thing it's supposed to do, make/recieve calls, and send/recieve text messages, it either doesn't do well, or refuses to do at all.
