"Two faulty Motorola v300 cell phones" on by d55mw

    Pros: nice colour

Cons: poor reception--especially for a triband, poor design and layout, poor manual, sticky keys, poor battery indicator

Summary: I have been through three Motorola v300's in the past 6 month. 2 of these were faulty and one I returned because it was not new as promised.

The only good thing about this phone it the way it looks. Nothing about the display or keypad is easy to use. I don't really care about bells and whistles, but when the basics don't work, there is no way to get around it.

Of the two faulty phones, both had a lot of static and crackle. They both had problems with hanging up mid-call. Quixotically, the first phone would hang up at the same time in every conversation, after 14 minutes or so, every time. This got to be very frustrating as I would have to call back several times. Usually before the hang-up, the person's voice would come in and out so I had about 1 minute of warning. It is never fun wandering around your apartment, trying to be able to hear the other person's voice.

The second phone would switch to 'emergency mode' and not allow me to dial out. Or else it would not allow me to make a call for some other reason (?).

I would warn against this model of Motorola phone just from this experience alone. Going back to the service provider once every two weeks isn't fun. Make sure to do some research beforehand, and even then, you can get stuck with a lemon. Also, please don't judge based on design or 'sexiness' alone because if it isn't user-friendly, it might as well not exist.

Sure, some of this can be the service provider's problem, but not all of it. A bad Motorola phone is a bad phone, there's no way to sugarcoat it.

"Pretty good for someone none gadget oriented" on by SweetGaia

    Pros: simple ...

    Cons: yet complex

Summary: It has the option to be simple and do what you want. If your looking for more options. It has it. IT all depends on the plan you have and what they let you get.

"Very good phone" on by tapaskm

    Pros: Speaker, Nice color

Cons: A little heavy, no bluetooth

Summary: I have had this phone for over a year. No problems at all. T-mobile sent me a unlock code too. Got phone for free after rebate, retailer paid one month's bill. Only recently the battery seems to drain out quicker than before, I guess one year for a battery life is ok.
