"great for gizmos, poor as an actual phone"
Pros: EDGE modem, mp3 ringtones, bluetooth, speakerphone
Cons: poor signal, choppy voice quality, no way to change to vibrate from audible ring without loud obnoxious beep, no dual ring/vibrate alert
Summary: For a gizmo nerd obsessed with always being connected, this phone is great. Bluetooth works great, the EDGE data modem is fast and easily paired with a notebook, ringtones can be uploaded as mp3 or midi files, speakerphone is nifty. But this model is like the wristwatch that does everything except keep time. Even at full signal strength the audio is choppy and broken, and I suspect that the phone exaggerates it's actual connection strength (anything less than a full signal results in a lot of dropped audio). The inability to silence the phone without making it beep first is a HUGE design flaw, and I really miss the dual audio/vibrate alert mode that other phones have. Battery life is pretty short, especially when using the modem.
As a gadget, I give this unit a B+. As a phone, it gets a C-.

If you open the phone (instead of using the external side buttons), you can change the ring style from audio to silent without hearing that loud beep.
1. Go to Settings > Audio.
2. Highlight Style and press Change.
3. Highlight Silent and press Select.
