"Rock solid workhorse" on by bobgregory
Pros: Simple, no-frills, no-camera, tri-mode, nice keypad, external display, low cost
Cons: no Bluetooth.
Summary: This is a basic workhorse. Most service providers have few cameraless phones. I purchased 20 of these for my company (free with any service contract). In many businesses a camera is a liability, not a feature. There are dozens of snazzy stylish phones with cameras, music players, etc. If what you want is a just a rugged phone with good RF performance your choices are limited.
We've had no problems with battery life. It is comparable to other models we have had with similar specs. With all phones battery life is affected by how long the phone is in a marginal coverage area hunting for a signal. Extended (bulkier) batteries are available but we don't need them.
My ideal business workhorse would be this phone with Bluetooth. Hands-free is a safety issue. Wired headsets are a pain. Users may already have a BT headset they like. Headsets are not one-size-fits-all. They are more like eyeglasses(some *are* eyeglasses).
Motorola are you listening? Build a 325i without camera or a W315 with Bluetooth and "we will come" -- "we" meaning the business users who need a basic workhorse phone with Bluetooth and *NO* camera. -
"Batteries one of the Worst I have had!" on by mortiki
Pros: nice standard options
Cons: batery, battery, battery
Summary: even in stand-by mode the battery will completely die in less than 24 hrs. i purchased over 30 of these for employees and all had the same issue. we then bought extended life batteries and they a much better.

"motorola w 315 stay away" on by nikitababe
Pros: there is nothing about this phone i like
Cons: everything about this phone is awful
Summary: this phone is the worst phone I have ever had! The battery will not stay charged! The speakers on this phone dose not work good at all. I would love to smash this phone. The company that i have my phone through will not excahnge this phone with out a $35.oo restocking fee which I knew nothing about. They said I have a 14 day exchange if i dont like the phone surprise. Words of advice: before signing a contract READ EVERY WORD AND FIND OUT THE FINE PRINT BEFORE SIGNING!!!!

"Replaced 3 times in 2 plus months" on by Centrum72
Pros: Basic phone for basic people like me
Cons: terrible quality control
Summary: Signed a contract with verizon May 2007. This is July 2007. Verizon has replaced mine 3 times and my wife's once. They just quit working. Verizon's policy is that if you go through more than 2 phones in the first 2 months they'll give you another comparable phone. I was over the time limit by a week but the store took pity on me. I am one day into my Samsung 870, more bells and whistles. No additional charge. Wife's phone didn't die often enough, so for the first year, Verizon says they'll ship her replacements as hers goes down. Ugly stuff.

"If it wasn't for the battery it would be a good phone" on by David1Spirit
Pros: No frills, great phone to have, but...........
Cons: The Battery has got to be the worse ever
Summary: I would keep this phone if it wasn't for the battery. I would fully charge it, leave it on the kitchen table and 5 hours later I am at 2 bars. Another hour and it's dead! And that's if I am NOT using it!
Called the company and they said that the average charge will hold a (whopping) 8 hours. Gee thanks!
