The Bottom Line	The Motorola W490 is a practical phone for making calls; just don't count on its camera to be of much use.	The Sony Ericsson Equinox TM717 has potential, but its multimedia features are undermined by design missteps and a subpar speakerphone.	Though it's not 3G quite yet, the Samsung SGH-T639 is a satisfying midrange phone in the meantime.	The Samsung SGH-T229 has unique design touches and pleasant call quality but it wouldn't be our first choice for a low-end T-Mobile camera phone.
