    "I beg to differ! Great reception!" on by reviewerdoo

    Pros: Excellent reception. Fabulous battery life. Simple to use. Speakerphone works. Alarm works well. Small and lightweight. Inexpensive.

    Cons: Screen is not as bright as it could be so isn't easy to read in direct sunlight.

    Summary: This is a nearly perfect phone for folks who want to get the best reception possible, have good battery life, and pretty much just want to make calls.

    Sure it's all plastic but I think it's good looking (in a subdued slightly retro way) and it's small and fits in a pocket well and feels good (is ergonomic) in the hand. Also the speaker phone works well as does the alarm. Highly functional. I don't need/want features like a bad camera or bluethooth or other functions that simply drain the battery and take away from the phone functionality. I also needed a phone with good reception because I work in a basement and this phone gets WAY better reception than the "fancy" Samsung phone I had for a month and had to replace with this because I couldn't get a signal in the basement with the Samsung. I happen to love the Nokia 2610. It's meets my needs fabulously.

    "Nokia 2610 Sux" on by slp1234

    Pros: speaker phone

    Cons: everything else

    Summary: My company replaced our old phones with this unit and to the person, everyone hates it for many reason's glossed over by CNET's technical reviewer.
    1- the screen is invisible in outside light, not just hard to see;
    2- It has only 9 speed dials;
    3- You can't program phone number extensions in the directory;
    4- The controls are absolutely not easy to understand, use or program;
    5- After a month of not significnt use(most of us are using our personal cell phones at this point) the unit feels like it's falling apart!

    And I could go on and on. The Nokia's one good feature is that the speaker phone is strong and easy to turn on and off.. Other than that, the designer who designed this product must have had a $10 budget to work with...

    "Bought a new One End Up with a refurbished Phone" on by MizzC

    Pros: Looks Cute and compact

    Cons: Keypads malfunction Awful phone reception

    Summary: I bought a new phone April 2007 and ended up exchanging the phone (for a refurbished phone) in October '07 due to poor reception... and NOW again December '07 exchanging the phone, keypads malfunction, for another refurbished phone. Awful.... they need to give me my money back call Nokia Manufacturer 1800-801-1101, and demand them for a call back of this phone!!!

    "Solid Phone" on by canavady

    Pros: battery life, ease of use, durability, reception

    Cons: memory capacity, visibility in sunlight, display

    Summary: I owned many phones and I can say quality wise this phone is in the top three. There are no major flaws with this phone. And it's call quality is the finest I've ever experienced.

    "Very good CELL PHONE......" on by Tdragon50

    Pros: Very durable, easy to use, great battery life and reception

    Cons: Screen can be a little hard to see in the sunlight

    Summary: I dont get how people say this phone sucks. It is not a huge multimedia device, it is a cell phone made for calling people. I just upgraded my phone for the first time in 4 years, this phone has some great features. Some reviews said there was static on calls, well ver little if that. The only time I didnt get a crystal clear call was if I was in best buy or places of the sort. These places I never got reception in before and most people I know dont with their newer "better" phones. This phone does do some nice IM'ing and email and will do songtones for when it rings. The ringer starts off low and then by the second ring is very loud, well unless you lower it down. The volume control is used by the menu keys and I really dont have a problem with that. I have charged it once in the past 3 days, used it for talking email and I still hve a full battery. I think the low ring start is so if youre in a quiet area you dont look like a moron while looking for oyur phone. As for the menu being hard to use thats a crock of crap. It is very easy to use and unless youre driving while using it the sun affecting the screen isnt a big deal. You shouldnt be using it in your car while driving anyway. It does have speaker phone and thats very nice as well. So all the negative comments are really from people who want a pocket pc instead of just a talking device. This is a very good cell phone.
