"A solid, cheap phone - let's be realistic" on by mister_g60
Pros: Good battery life
Good build quality
Good feature set
Good call quality
Great Nokia T9 textingCons: Slow OS (main major beef)
Crappy camera (doesn't apply much to me)
Crappy placement of crappy camera
Inability to assign "messaging" as a shortcut - what??
Lower than idea resolution on main LCD (oh well)
No MP3 capability (and no 3.5mm jack)Summary: Bottom-line: I paid $20 for this phone (turns out it was $5-10 too much, but oh well), and for what I paid it's perfectly adequate. I oscillate between high-end phones and super cheap ones, and I always come back to super cheap because I never use half the features on the high-end ones I expect to. I put my SIM card in, had all my contacts and it was ready to go. (Speaking of SIM cards, CDMA - still around? Really?) I don't regret buying this phone. If I get tired of it I can hock it on CL and buy something else. If I destroy it (I'm really fastidious, so that's not likely), then I can replace it and not break the bank. Utility is key in a mobile phone for me ... today, anyway.
