"Reliable and stylish minimalist phone that makes and receives calls."
Pros: Inexpensive, reliable, and stylish.
Cons: Feels a bit cheap, some minor software bugs in the display options.
Summary: I got this as my first cell phone - it was cheap, and did what I wanted it to do: make calls.
Opinions often differ on this matter, but I found that all I needed to do on my cell phone was to make and receive calls, build a contact list, and perhaps use the occasional calculator ******* or play a little game. I found the Nokia 6030 did these tasks quite perfectly.
I had no problems with reception on this phone, with my local carrier. The sound quality was good, though a tiny bit on the quiet side. The phone came with decent features and games, and the downloadable ones were all great.
If anything, the buttons (particularly the top two menu select buttons) felt like it was made of a cheap plastic - which it is. But nothing that was unforgivable for the low price. I did find a tiny bug when using visual themes, where the theme could not be reset to the default one once another one was applied, but I don't know if this was a design flaw with the software or with the theme. Otherwise, the phone works perfectly for me.
I recommend this phone to anyone who simply wants a phone for the simplest of cell phone tasks (making calls!), while looking sleek doing so. The black and silver is quite striking and looks more expensive from afar than it actually is.
