"CNet reviews are inconsistent." on by DocG
Pros: Don't know...honestly haven't tested the phone.
Cons: Don't know...honestly haven't tested the phone.
Summary: Looking at the numerical rating of 7.7 for this phone and comparing the 6086 to the N75 (which I own) I can't believe these ratings are based on objective measures. Instead they appear to evade any standardization and seem more related to the reviewers than the phones themselves. I'd like to see CNet perform a phone-to-phone (Nokia 6086 vs. N75) comparison with the tester being unaware of the prior rating given to each phone. Test each phone's features and performance using some objective measure (albeit somewhat difficult given the different wireless services) and then let's see which of these phones receives the higher rating.
In the end, I can't imagine the N75 coming out as the lesser rated phone. However, I'm open to being wrong. -
"Good Product, but not perfect" on by trackguy1
Pros: once operational, works great
Cons: wifi error messages not descriptive enough
Summary: I've been using the phone for about a week now on my wifi at home with a Belkin N1 running WPA2-PSK without a broadcasting the SSID. It took about 2 minutes to get everything working, but about 2 hours to figure out that it was dropping connections due to channel interference on the wifi. What fixed the problem was switching the belkin to broadcast on channel 8. I live in an apartment complex and my neighbors were apparently using channels, 1, 6, and 11 with their routers, not to mention any wireless landline phones and microwave ovens in the area using who knows what. I haven't had any dropped connections or calls since the channel switch. All other functions of the phone have worked well. The phone isn't perfect but darn close to it...

"At last a answer to dropped calls." on by So Sim
Pros: WIFI (no dropped calls) Money it saves you.
Cons: VGA Camera & looks from the 90's.
Summary: I've had this phone a day & already I'm happier now than with any other phone. I connected it to my wifi at work & get calls everywhere, never drops & I never know when it moves from WIFI to GSM, it's seemless.
One note, the plan for unlimited wifi calling & Hotspot use is $19.99, NOT $9.99. That's for a day pass or something like that, from the words of the T-Mobile rep her self.
Buy this phone, dispite it's lack of options & media content, it does what it does extremly well & the wifi will save you a bunch. -
"Great phone" on by Obmulap
Pros: Wi-Fi connectivity
Cons: Lack of tone selection
Summary: I was about to drop T-Mobile as my carrier because of the lousy reception in my new apartment. Now this comes along, long story short T-Mobile now has me for another two years. It's a good phone very functional, but there are a few functions from my V3 Razor that I miss.

"I was lied to about the product!" on by genzink
Pros: Paper weight. shiny
Cons: Does not work in China, they told me it would
Summary: T Mobile told me the phone would work in China and it does not. They will not unlock it for me either because I have not been a member for 90 days. I have spent over 7 hrs on tech support with 11 different people fighting for my life to get my money back. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
